If GGG allows Loeffer to postpone the mandatory fight so Cotto fights first Canelo, I would get mad. Canelo always fights as a catch-weight, he's not a middle-weight. Then he gets a title shot. And GGG was years at middleweight for nothing??

If I was GGG I would demand a 7 figure step aside fee along with a contract signed by both fighters and both promoters that guarantees that the winner will fight GGG in their next fight within 6 months, at the middleweight limit with no catchweight. They will also be prohibited from fighting any other opponent at any other weight class before fighting GGG. The fight will go on even if the title holder decides to vacate the title. The only alternative to not fighting GGG will be retirement from the sport.

Get that all in writing and certified and then and only then should GGG step aside for Cotto to fight Canelo.

When Ward has had his tune up fights and is ready and willing to fight, and he has built up his name to the point where some decent money comes with the fight, then yeah, the fight should happen. But there is no point in fighting Ward for less money than GGG can make fighting Monroe. Ward - GGG should be a PPV fight and neither fighter is a PPV draw at this point.

What these people don't understand that not only does fighting Canelo make more financial sense, but Canelo's simply just better. He's higher on the P4P list than GGG is. He's more skilled too. Cotto gets more with a win over Nelo than he does some Euro bum blaster with power.

I don't think Canelo is on any P4P list, he certainly is not on the RING list while GGG is number 7. If you think Canelo is better than GGG, you have a huge disappointment waiting for you down the line somewhere.
