If only this situation was that cut and dry. HBO has been pushing hard behind the scenes for a cotto-canelo fight, do you really think they are going to let GGG(under HBO contract) pull that move?

I'm pretty sure that if golovkin says no to stepping aside,cotto would have to vacate,and golovkin fights with the next guy in line for the wbc strap. Cotto-canelo would still happen,but there wouldn't be any belt at stake. I think that this is the best case,so cotto won't have to relive the margarito beating.
