Haymon was going to drop the money hammer on Duva she simply can't compete on the negotiating table NONE no competition. Kovalev does good hbo numbers but he has NO fan base he's a ROAD fighter for fu.cks sake. Duva is shook.
I agree, that is what real boxing fans would do.

Duva previously stated that Stevenson was a coward..... she said that Stevenson should forget about money/deals/networks, and just make the fight for the fans.

Kovalev could simply do the exact same thing, and take that fight.

LOL at the fanboys who have suddenly decided that HBO's profitability is more important.

      lol

and Kovalev fights whom? His IBF mandatory, maybe Chilemba, and then what? for **** money too, since Kovalev still isn't much of a ticket seller on his own.

Stevenson has the lineal championship, is now in a position where his camp called Main Event's bluff and Kovalev is left looking like a chump. "Superman" continues to fight in Montreal, with fights aired stateside over the PBC platforms and with better opponent options than Kovalev, while always having that trump card of a Stevenson-Bute fight in his pocket (let alone Stevenson-Pascal still having value, barring Pascal picking up a few wins).

Stevenson will continue to get bigger purses (as long as he's champion), will be in more meaningful fights, and will laugh as Kovalev looks to convince viewers that Dominic Boesel (WBO#1 challenger) from some 5,000 seater in Jersey is worth their attention.

As if Michel and Duva need to meet in person with Hershmann to get an offer put on the table.

You think HBO doesnt already have a number in mind?

Duva can do like all other promoters do and send GYM a contract. But she hasnt has she?

Duva can put out a press release saying Michel hasnt down with her yet, but she cant put out a press release saying how much she offers Stevenson for the fight?

        Please.
Send a contract without negotiating, when Kovalev still has a fight pending?

        • Quebecers are sick of Quackenson.

Can't we move on and stop talking about this disgrace?

Of course it was before 'pbc'... and the Russians ended by being marred in the financial turmoil early this year.

She must missed out the whole PBC thing.
              NBC numbers >HBO numbers
foreseeable ESPN PBC number will probably also higher than HBO numbers.
              Because it's free.
Duva knows it exactly just try to spin it. Networks are like landlords nowadays, they hold on fighters like on their dear life and lock them from others. It's not good. Networks should compete for fighters no need for exclusive contracts.

Inb4 someone come and bark me about Floyd's Showtime contract and etc... I meant same rules apply to everyone.
ESPN isn't free, you got to have a CABLE PACKAGE, just like you need one for Spike, Oxygen and TRU-TV. HBO numbers were higher this past weekend than Showtime's airing and they are both on the same level playing field (premium pay channels)

Stevenson is 37. Time isn't on his side here.

Really, you polled everyone in Quebec ?

                    Props for that !

And, props also for being appointed as the official Quebec spokesperson.

So, why do Quebecers prefer to pay for a fight rather than watch it for free?

Send me your money, now !

And tell those other Quebecers that I'm waiting on them too.

                      The PPV market has changed.

Cotto vs Martinez did 300K. Neighter Kovalev or Stevenson are close to that in name recognition.

It will kill on PPV in Canada but thats got nothing to do with HBO or SHO or PBC.

Yeah you're right, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but no your absolutely right. Neither is a star or a Draw here in the US. That was my point though, I don't get this BS about HBO PPV when it is not a PPV Worthy Fight.

For both fighters to earn the most money possible Purse Bid Make Sense! HBO is NOT going to put up the Money to make it happen, HBO will try to get that fight for CHEAP and at the most they will get maybe 1.5 Million Viewers watching if their lucky.
