and when a champion and a mandatory can't come to terms the purse bid process takes place

Some people just have no idea lol

I always make fun of Stevenson ducking but this is clearly Duva blocking it atm

Why shouldnt it go to purse bid? Go to whoever is paying the most money....

It shouldnt be bound to HBO. Its a big fight. SHO could be willing to spend big

        Its as simple as that

C'mon son. They had to partner with SHO to make Mayweather-Pacquiao. They won't get Stevenson-Kovalev so they'll have to settle for a revolving cycle of Kovalev-Mohammedi, Kovalev-Agnew, and Kovalev-Caparello. They can't get anyone worth a damn to face Golovkin so they settle for a revolving cycle of Golovkin-Monroe Jr. That ship is sinking fast.

How much money are they losing on those fights?

The point is, the fight can't pay for itself on PBC channels like NBC or CBS, which is why the fight would have to be paid for with investor money.

I suspect that Duva asked first for the purse bid -- there was a ****** Russian who promised to back her up.

So Duva works for HBO now?

This is not a PPV Event in America. Would be lucky to sell 300k here in the US

Wishing won't make it so. As I said the best talent is still very much with HBO. The PBC 'stars' don't shine too bright, in more ways than one.

Look at this fanboy obsessed with the TV channel that airs this fight. Kovalev stops Stevenson in 2 rounds, why do you care? Are you an HBO exec? Man you working the local drive-thru. Go easy salting my fries man. I don't want my fries doused in salt.

When she lobbied the WBC for this i'm pretty sure it was before the announcement of PBC. She probably underestimated the sort of capital backing Haymon was going to get for his venture.
