very true.
Stevenson will hold his title for however long he'll hold it, and then Beterbiev, Alvarez, and a host of other young light heavyweights in PBC universe will go after the lineal/WBC title.
Even though he's 37, he's only had the gloves on, pro or amateur, for 12 years now (according to Wikipedia, he barely had 40 amateur fights). Still, Kovalev's no spring chicken either.
He's already 32, has been fighting for 20 years (225 amateur fights), and has had just as many pro fights as Stevenson has had.
Kovalev has a bit more time, but he's literally about to enter a stretch where, even with WBO/IBF/WBA titles around his waist, he's going to be fed **** competition for the next few years (take a look at the top 25 175ers on boxrec, and you'd see that near all of the other guys are either A)with Haymon, B)domestic fighters in their home countries, or C)already fought by Kovalev).
Stevenson easily has 4 meaningful fights in the cue, without considering Beterbiev or Alvarez.
Who does Kovalev fight to close out the year without Stevenson?Comment

Im saying that GYM can match Stevenson up with a bunch of of fighters and sell out venues, regardless of if these fighters are affiliated with Haymon or not.
They have NEVER depended on Haymon's money to put on shows.Comment

Who are those four, Fonfara II, and ? *Genuine question, not rhetorical.
Kovalev's options are definitely limited.Comment

Hershman said they're interested in Kovalev vs Ward, though doubtful this year. Same with Stevenson Beterbiev, not any time soon. Alvarez isn't much, doubt he beats Chilemba. Who are these other 4 meaningful fights for Stevenson?very true.

Things obviously changed with Michel.
I must be a visionary.Comment

Of course, and 50/50 on HBO doesn't mean they make the same money. They'd split Hbos fee even but they fight in Quebec and Stevenson gets Canada ppv and gate money, outsized for this eventComment
