Haymon leaving to PBC in 2015 and dragging the Showtime brand through the mud all of 2014 is prime example of how to get yourself fired. They need to bring in someone new who will rebuild relationships with Top Rank, Golden Boy, and the rest of the promoters. And will put their foot down to Haymon. They were bidding against themselves with laughable purses for blatant mismatches all last year just because they didn't want to upset Haymon and lose his fighters. They ruined relationships just to keep Haymon happy. And he still f'ed them over lol Now they have to just ride the Mayweather gravy train for as long as they can but he only fights twice a year. What do you do for the remaining 50 weeks of the year?
SHO had their own, but HBO is far superior to SHO when it comes to this type of programming.

It's just interesting to see the dichotomy between what's going on at HBO and SHO right now.

HBO has a live boxing line-up on every Saturday night (except for the ppv night) from 4/18 to 5/16, many of the shows augmented by Pac-May programming (At Last, Legends Speak, the replay) while at the same time the new TruTV fight cards start on 5/1 for three straight weeks.

Meanwhile, at SHO, there's no live boxing on the schedule and hasn't been much since January.

It would be great if SHO started over sans Espinoza and Haymon, but who knows, CBS is a PBC network.

True but these ratings are low even based on Showtime's recent ratings history. For example Danny Garcia vs Herrera did 1.1mil rating. Garcia vs a total bum in Salka did 800K. Chavez based on his ratings previously with HBO and stature with Mexicans coming into this fight had more star power in boxing then Danny Garica. Remember Chavez has headlined PPV events and had the top rating NON PPV event last year. And if you want to say well it's because they went head to head with HBO. They did the same thing with the Khan/Alexander fight and they did around 800K. It was a disastrous night for Showtime

Mitchell Kane no kidding I watched both promo's for the May/pac fight and HBO's At Last was soooo much better then the one Showtime aired. They started it all with their 24/7 and they just know how to do it right.

If anyone missed Amir Imam on Showtime this weekend, you need to see this boy fight. He's a beast, and should be next in line to fight Broner!

HBO 35 million subscribers. Showtime 25.

That's all you have to know.

Same numbers considering this 10 million gap.

Why is this a surprise? HBO has always had the bigger boxing fanfare of subscribers and just more in general.

But overall hbo had anything but good ratings so far.
