Sounds like you made a half a$$ed comment and are backing away from it.
No showtime sports is more than boxing. You even listed some. And if he hasnt been fired yet then he knows what hes doing. No backing away just seeing no need to argue about another mans job. Fire him or dont fire him. I watch the sport

If they were smart they'd agree to things like this in the future. Everyone wins.
Why not? Why would HBO care what Showtime is doing? With Tivo / DVR, overlapping programming is really no big deal anymore. Besides, HBO and Showtime are both powerhouses and would never allow their own programming to be dictated by a competitor......

Chavez Jr pulled some decent numbers for such Lukewarm card. Sadly, after his performance that night, I doubt he'll be able to pull similar numbers again any time soon, if ever again. He went from being a top draw and Haymons second biggest star to a joke within one night, sucks for him.

Anyway, I'm glad TC, Lucas and Provodnikov did so well with a split audience. Great figures and they deserved it, all around a great night for boxing and strong numbers on both ends.

I find it interesting that Showtime is not available in Canada as far as I know, but most of their better programming like Shameless, Ray Donovan, Penny Dreadful, The Affair, Masters of Sex, Jim Rome, 60 Minutes Sports, etc... are included in my TMN/HBO subscription and shown on one of the 6 TMN stations I have. It seems the only thing I don't get are the Showtime boxing cards. I even have access to much of the Showtime back catalog of shows on Cravetv, also included in my package.

Now that I think of it, it's not a bad deal to get 6 movie channels, HBO and the best of Showtime programming for 15 bucks a month!

Haymon just ruined his own cash cow, Chavez Jr Quit. When mexicans see a mexican fighter Quit you are not a mexican anymore. Chavez needs a redemption fight againts GGG for mexico to rally behind him again. Chavez Sr knows boxing and he warned his son not to fight Fonfara, He didnt listen and he gets Dominated bad, so Bad that he thought he won the fight. HBO owns Showtime in the boxing game, showtime is always going to be the B-side in premium cable battle. I wanna see crawford vs matthysse that would generate another 1.3 million buys.

Yep. They hired Golden Boy Promotions' lead attorney to lead SHO Sports because of what he could do for their non-boxing content.

                      It certainly looks like it.

That's just an amazing fall for a boxer who, at one point, was pulling some of HBO's biggest numbers.

It's no mystery why GBP wanted Canelo back on HBO.
