  • Talent wise, I have no issue with what he said, in fact I would agree. A fighter as great as Mayweather should always have the mental belief that nobody is better.

He isnt he is answering a question that youre hanging off .

He has every right to believe that , and I will tell there have been lots of fighters that think they are the best and at their best nobody can beat them , this is the mindspace of a ATG , not many will out right say it but then again not many get the limelight or asked the questions that Floyd does , you people need to realize Floyd is a great fighter .

Makes me laugh the way you guys think , you cant be great in life if dont believe you are .

But one thing I will do, I'm going to take my hat off to them and respect those guys because those are the guys that paved the way for me to be where I'm at today."

        Obviously Floyd!

Ali and Robinson were bum fighters mainly.

You might be better than Leonard too but he would have given you a good fight though!

        • Floyd Mayweather is #2 in my P4P all time best ever ranking. Sugar Ray Robinson is king at #1.

Floyd is right. Ali used the "Rope a Dope" on Foreman. Ali also got beat by a noob in Spinks.

          • He can believe whatever the hell he wants. It's the fans who shouldn't be excused for believing such nonsense.

I like Floyd as a fighter and he is indeed the best today; but no way in hell is he better than Sugar Ray Robinson. It is perfectly fine to think you are the best of your time when you are undefeated; but don't run off on the deep in and drown yourself. There are many fighters that would have beat Floyd in the past. If we had a modern day Henry Armstrong, Kid Gavilan, Jose Napoles, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Wilfred Benitez and a few more around at this time like Aaron Pryor, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor then Mayweather wouldn't be popular at all. I like Floyd but when he talks about the history of the greats; that's an insult to me. Sugar Ray Robinson and will always be the greatest of all times.

              • Floyd is delusional. He isn't even the best p4p of his generation. Maybe top 3 of his generation.

p4p though, Rigondeaux trumphs him, as well as Ricardo Lopez, I'd also argue Ivan Calderon. Two of the least appreciated bust most sublimely skilled fighters of recent times. Also, Roy Jones Jr... Prime for Prime... Sorry Floyd, you would have gotten James Toneyed.

Then I would take Pernell Whitaker over him in a heart beat. Floyd had nightmares with Castillo, imagine what JCChavez would have given him.

Then Duran... Yeah, Imagine being where you are in your career right now Floyd, then I dunno, Jumping up to fight Andre Ward, and winning decisively... Yeah, Duran did something on that level.

Floyds problem is that he is comparing himself against guys who proved themselves against the best fighter of their generation while they were in their prime. No matter what happens with the Pacquaio fight, which I am assuming will be a fairly one sided fight in Floyds favor, he has carved a legacy for himself as the guy who picks on old men to win.

He never picked on a Sugar Ray Leonard. He never picked on a Julio Cesar Chavez, he never picked on a Thomas Hearns, or a James Toney, or a Bernard Hopkins.

His career defining performance was against Deigo Corralles. That says a lot about what you have done in the sport.

Yes Floyd, p4p, you are the biggest draw the sport has ever seen probably.
Skill wise, sorry. Not even close.

                  • Even if Pac loses he will still in many ways be considered better than Floyd.

                    • Brainwashing Floyd is not exactly challenging.

Al Haymon could tell you that.
