Why Cotto will be better at 147

I think Cotto's best weight may be 147, as he has had to kill himself to stay at 140 for years. He's about 2 or 3 fights from outgrowing his weight division. At 147, he will dominate as the talent pool is either aging or non existent. Mayweather may just stay a welterweight and dominate, and then in that case Cotto is screwed.

The best I've ever seen Cotto look physically is against Torres. He must've felt it too because he fought a ****** fight, preferring to slug early and almost got whacked out.

Are u serious??? u must be out of ur mind if u dont think theres talent at 147! theres Mayweather,Mosley,Zab,Margarito,Collazo,Spinks and joel julio.

About Cotto i think he is doing fine in 140 for at least one more year he needs a lil more expirience to hang around with the big guns. Castillo - Cotto is going to be hell of a fight if it ever happens.

WTF?? this forum is getting like the Hatton one, all but hate to Cotto, bro's let the man prove himself, he's got all but 26 fights, he's only 26 and still learning, nobody was demanding so much off Hatton and May when they had ****ing 26 fighhts, Hatton has 40 fights and just started stepping up in his 39th and after that went right back to fight bums, May is another story, but when he had 26 fights he didnt step it up as much as people wanted from him either, so stop all the hate and let Cotto prove himself whenever he's ready for it, whether it be at 140 or 147. People keep demanding a lot of **** from him, but he's been in the sport, professionaly, for about 5 years, and is already mentioned with the likes of Hatton and May, that must mean something.

Mayweather didn't have his first 26 pro fights televised. How can you blaim fans for not expecting more from a guy with that much exposure. You say he's only 26?

Let's see when Mayweather was 26yrs old with 26 fights as a pro he fought:
Diego Corrales,Angel Manfredy,Sosa,Chavez,"El Topo" Gerena,Juuko,Genero Hernandez to name a few

I reckon Cotto might do better at 147, but funnily enough I think theres quite a few welterweights who would beat him. I think Judah for instance would be a bad matchup for Cotto, he has ~ZERO chance against Mayweather, and I'd back Margarito against him although he could win this one.

Much better to try and face Hatton, I think Cotto would have a very good chance at 147 against the Hitman.

A fight against Castillo at 140 would be great to watch though, quite even as I look at it, unless Cottos chin is really that bad (I can't make my mind up how serious a problem it is)

I tihnk he has alot more challenges at 147. I bet Kermit Cintron would just kill him. Margarito would just use his size and destroy cotto. Cory Spinks would dance around cotto all night.

Cory spinks dance aroung Cotto?hahahaha Nobody has been able to dance around cotto bc he cuts the ring off better than anyone at 140 or 147. Nobody can run away from Cotto, definately not a mediocre overrrated boxer like Spinks. Margarito and Cintron are really big Welters they should be fighting at 154.
