Fonfara is a legit top 5-10 light heavyweight, and Chavez Jr shouldn't have been in the ring with him in the first place, especially for his first fight back after a year away from fighting.
Still, there are a lot of positives to look to, his chin holding up at light heavyweight being the biggest one.
Chavez takes a couple weeks off, goes back into the gym to keep fit, and continues with the plan that he was moving with.
Next fight is at 168, against a so-so guy, in August/September, before closing out the year with another fight at 168. Win both of those fights and Chavez can eye a big fight March/April 2016.

Chavez finally fought someone his size and his bullying tactics weren't effective and he got beat down and quit..

A lot of heartbreak tonight as ward, froch, Stevenson, ggg, kovolev all watched a potential career high pay day go down the drain...
