  • This does not change much for Chavez. If he goes back to fighting lesser fighter over the next 2 or 3 fights then pick up a belt a long the way he would still be controlling his own career, cotto did it

Props to Fonfara for putting the ass whipping that Chavez Sr. should have given him years ago.
Fonfara was the bigger better man tonight, But I don't understand the hatred for Jr. He fought his heart out, but was out gunned. I think this Warrior will do fine at 168. Froch is smaller, and not as good as Fonfara. I think Jr. wins that fight. There is more to come from Jr. But he should not fight at LH again. Too small.

Except for cotto already had world titles and big wins over guys like zab and shane... And cotto in his prime only loses to the absolute best guys, chavez just got dominated by a mediocre light heavy,,, it would be like cotto losing to oktay urkal or kelson pinto

I'd say its not as bad as Pinto/Urkal...but definitely worse than losing to Austin Trout(yeah, Cotto fans like to forget that fight).

Jr got humiliated, good fight by Fonfara, such a satisfying comeuppance.

Jr is nothing without his size advantage....shame he was such a spoiled brat because with Ariza conditioning at 160, he couldve give us great fights with his style.....look at how he walked Andy Lee down with 0 fuc/ks given.

Trout was at the tail end of cotto's career... Chavez still in his prime.. I totally agree with you at chavez is nothing without his size advantage.. He can't bully light heavies

            • Clown exposed. Only so far a mediocre fighter can ride the hype of his daddy's last name. Great day for boxing that this spoiled no work ethic bum took a beating. Lol

Fonfora, not that long ago, went 12 rounds with the lineal light heavyweight champion of the world, getting dropped early but rallying hard late (if it was a 15 round fight, who knows what could've happened). Over a year out of the ring, looking at the actual opponent being called for, Chavez Sr viewed it to be a terrible fight to pick, rightfully so with the way things unfolded.

Beyond that, whose career is ended? Chavez Jr fought a full-blown light heavyweight, fought him toe to toe for 9 hard rounds, was dropped once, and 'the ref stopped the fight, due to a leg injury'.

Chavez goes back to 168, has two good wins against warm bodies, and he's back in demand, running his own show and not having to deal with some 85 year old man scivving him out of his money.
                Lmao

Get chavez's **** out of your mouth.... The dude asked for it to be stopped..

Lmao, you fanboys crack me up

                • Fonfara is one my favorite fighters right now.. I loved how he showed super heart against Stevenson and yelled "M..Fer!!" and spit at the end of the fight. Dude is so game.

I'D TAKE FONFARA OVER BITTCHLE G TODAY
Fonfara is two divisions north from Golovkin. I'd take Povetkin over Fonfara - is also true, but sounds equally ******. What was your point? You act like Chavez went up in weight by choice. Stop lying!!!

Chavez Jr just don't have the answer he should have listened to his Father
