Yup and also it depends on the quality of their opponents as well

Pascal wasn't really a tough fight, and Kovalev's training camp was crap for that fight, not hard and grueling. You're making all kinds of shit up. That's why it's a ****** rant.

I totally agree, I believe boxing needs to be better regulated, it's crazy how this sport just drifts along at the behest and whims of the rich and powerful.

I think any fighter who is regarded as "regular" or "super" champ with the 4 main bodies should have to defend his title at least 3 times a year. One mandatory and 2 voluntary.

I'm fine with 2 fights a year for the guys at the top who have proven themselves. I'd like to see more but I get it. The problem I have is the nobodies who have done and proved nothing who fight once or twice a year and expect to be treated like stars.

I think 3 is the perfect amount for even the biggest stars.

Actually they say inactivity is a fighter's biggest enemy.

Kovalev will fight 3 times this year, Pascal just gone, Mohammedi in June and then a fight in the Autumn/Fall. I'm disappointed because I wanted him to fight 4 times.

I'm fine with it for guys like Froch who take a lot of punishment in a fight and need the recovery time, but not for guys who don't ship many punches.

It's like Broner said after Molina fight, he barely got hit, he's ready to fight Khan at the end of the month.

The whole twice a year thing is about money really, the money isn't there to pay a lot of these lesser stars to fight 3-4 times per year, they demand a big purse.

Of course but 2 fights a year is enough activity to prevent ring rust.

You do that! I'm quite happy with the low rate of deaths involved in boxing as of the last 40 years.
