How is it a ****** rant? Everything I said was true, except the part that GGG has a kid (I don't know his biography). Kovalev won't fight 3 times this year, I guarantee it. That's what happens when you are in tough fights. As for GGG, as long as he stays at 160 he can fight 5 times a year, he's not taking any punishment there.

I can get why fighters like Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto and a very selected few fight twice a year, but there's really no excuse fore these other cats. All these other fighters out here should be fighting 3-4 times a year, I agree. It's refreshing to see Canelo, Kovalev, GGG, and Gonzalez staying active.

Fans tend to forget that fighters are not fighting for the fans. They are fighting for themselves. When you are trying to build a name for yourself, you fighter three or four times per year if you can get that many fights. Once you have made it to the top, you fight twice a year and make more money in those two fights than everyone who fights four times a year.

Mayweather, Pacquaio, Cotto and Klithscko have made it to the top. Everyone else is still trying to get there.

For a fan yes. For a fighter maybe not. For 15-20 vets 2 is fine. They need to protect themselves plus the already put in their work and fights in the early part of their career.

An up and coming fighter should fight 4 times a year.

I agree 2 fights a year is a joke and Cotto has been averaging 1 fight a year. You can't force fighters to fight more often than they want to fight. Bradley and Khan and Guerrero have fought only 5 times in the last 3 years. Cotto has had only 3 fights in the last 3 years. Matthysse has fought 7 times in the last 3 years and GGG has fought 9 times in the last 3 years with another fight coming very soon. Hagler used to defend his title 3 or 4 times a year against good fighters. Fighting 4 times a year used to be the norm and now it's down to 2 fights a year for no good reason.

Other than taking away titles, nobody can force anyone to fight. The business has changed and you can either accept it, or whine about it as time passes you by.

Pac and May sure but guys like Danny Garcia etc are wasting their best years fighting twice a year.

If guys fought more often the wouldn't need such long training camps to get back in shape.

Fight, then do nothing for 4 mths , of course you're going to need 8 weeks to get in shape.

For example, Chris Eubank defended his title 17 times in 3 years during his prime.
