let down syndrome girl go into boxing if dana wants her see fight laila ali. i always find it ******ed how they set these fights up so that everybody has to fight MMA fighters under MMA rules. boxers punch, thats all they do. it makes no sense to make them fight under MMA rules. however it does make some sense to let MMA fighters under boxing rules because boxing is part of what they do. its still uneven of course and every boxer is going to slap the **** out of an MMA fighter in a boxing fight, but it's more justified than having a boxer go into mma

Ali shouldn't have started talking and claim she would whoop Ronda in a STREET FIGHT.

Laila Ali was the most overrated woman boxer ever. She ducked Anne Wolfe and even Mary Jo Saunders. Lucia Stryker at 135lbs would've destroyed Ali and tried numerous times to get a fight with her. Laila fought women with an average of 9-12 wins.

Boxing versus MMA can't be compared. They are very different sports. Yes they are both combat sports but that's like comparing NFL to rugby - similarities but still very different. NFL star players would suck on a rugby field and star rugby players would suck in the NFL.
Putting a star MMA fighter in a boxing ring or star boxer in MMA cage is pointless. They are different sports.
And I like all 4 sports mentioned above.

A boxer would have a better chance of beating an MMA fighter at MMA than than the other way round, if they were similar level in their own sports.

I don't think we will ever see a prime top class boxer fighting in the UFC. Dana White would never allow that to happen, as the boxer might win and tarnish Dana's brand.

When Tyson Fury was sounding off about wanting to fight Cain Velasquez, Dana's response was, "If you want to fight the UFC champ, join the UFC and work your way up, you have to earn your shot."

But one throw away remark by Laila, which wasn't even a challenge, and he's offering her a shot at Rousey straight away!

See the difference? Fury is a world class boxer in his prime, so he can forget about it. Laila is in her 40's and hasn't fought in over a decade. That's the kind of boxer Dana likes.

Rousey may get Laila because of her judo background. Laila is much bigger so if she can catch her with a KO punch before getting armbarred she may win.

If Rousey can fight 175 lb Laila, why not make a deal with the strikeforce chick and fight her at 145 instead of whining about her dropping down 10lbs.

Ronda is a beast in MMA but all this talk about her beating boxing champions and jiu jitsu champions in their respective sports is ridiculous. She wasn't even the best Judoka when she was doing Judo. Lol the hype that she's getting for her accomplishments in MMA is deserved. All this other crap about her beating other women in their combat sports and even men needs to stop.
