The flaw in your post is that this implied "bias," can be found with ANY culture. Don't expect to see to many "sober" opinions on Canelo, Margarito or Rios from our Mexican friends. I find most people are incapable of seeing their own bias. They legitimize their bias so that it's easy to swallow but we see it too.

Heiland is definitely not a Top 10 middleweight, but at least he is a middleweight. Cotto probably wants to keep his WBC title as a bargaining chip for Canelo or Floyd.

This is just the Canelo fans hoping Canelo get' a win over another star and the GGG fans hoping for a GGG PPV crowning at Cotto's expense. And then there are those simple minded folks who get a kick out of pissing the Cotto fans off.

It's funny that on one hand, peasants detract from Cotto's victory over Sergio, "he beat a washed up Middleweight," and yet expect the MW newcomer, to jump up to GGG. Cotto is smart and will fight a Heiland before he even thinks of testing this weight with a beast like GGG. He has to get acclimated to the weight. I do think Cotto will eventually fight GGG. Cotto is too proud win or lose.

Cotto is the world middleweight champion, so it is not unreasonable to expect him to fight the best middleweights. We can't pretend that he is a 19 y/o prospect with a dozen fights. If the title is too much of a burden for him he should drop it.

Well, he's a middleweight so that's good. Heiland won some kind of title eliminator and would be on the verge of becoming mandatory so might as well get him out of the way now.
