Without the holding, Hatton wouldn't be able to do the damage he did, an Tsyzu would have been able to do more damage than what he did. The quittage and holding are directly related.

That day we learned Hatton is a great wrestler, not a great boxer. It's a completely meritless win in my book.

Many could have beaten that injury prone, inactive Tszyu.

      Still a good win though.

Yeah Ricky benefited from the often overzealous UK fans. Kostya is one of the best 140s of all time though so even off his prime that kicks your resume up 10 notches. Ricky is far from the worst offender.

Revisionist history. Junior Witter didn't have a world title at that time.

Dude only lost in his prime to manny and floyd, both at their absolute peaks... Nothing to be ashamed of..

You also left of the solid win over Ben tackie that turned Hatton into a true world title contender, he also has a good stoppage win over titlist maussa...

I always wish hatton would have fought Judah, morales, corrales, gatti and Bradley..

Especially Corrales and gatti.. Those would have been huge in 05-07

He was a pressure fighter, and pressure fighters have very short shelf lives and so longevity isn't there, much like a frazier or tyson.. But that doesn't mean he wasn't a really good fighter at his peak...

hatton ducked cotto. End of story

Trampler revealed for the first time that Top Rank had been trying to make a Hatton-Cotto fight happen at junior welterweight.

"For the last two years, Cotto has been willing to fight Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton at what ever weight," Trampler said. "Get this straight: Cotto ducks nobody. Here's a scoop for you: there were numerous discussions with the Hatton people, but Ricky went up to 147 and then came back down. Miguel is staying at welterweight. But Hatton knows where to find Cotto when he wants to get it on.
