Hatton's resume is on par with Khans.

Except Hatton fought the very best in Floyd and Manny.

Hatton's popularity was based around his background and the fact that he pulled in huge numbers of casual fans.

I always felt he was one of those guys who had more heart and fighting spirit than technical skill as a boxer - he was a brawler / swarmer.

I like Ricky as a guy - he was just a down to earth, happy go lucky type.

He did his talking in the ring, never took a backward step.

    Peoples Champ.

After tsyzu sliced thru shambra after coming back from injury, he looked great and both cotto and floyd steered clear and targeted guys like gatti...

While it may be true, they could beat tsyzu,,, I give props to the one that actually step up and beat them...

Reminds me of hagler,, people always claim that leonard beat a shot old hagler, but if it was so easy, why didn't mugabi beat him...

I give huge credit when you can end the reign of a longtime dominant champ like hagler, hopkins, tsyzu, etc...

If it was so easy, why didn't others do it...

It was a good win for a contender, but how much is one willing to milk it?

Also Hatton took 38 bouts to get his shot at a proper World title. Still a good win.

He really was Chris John of UK.

Floyd didn't steer clear of Tszyu at all. He wanted that fight.

            Nothing at all like Hagler-Leonard.

Tszyu was very inactive and very injury prone, fact.

It was a good win but these are facts.

You also left of the solid win over Ben tackie that turned Hatton into a true world title contender, he also has a good stoppage win over titlist maussa...

I always wish hatton would have fought Judah, morales, corrales, gatti and Bradley..

Especially Corrales and gatti.. Those would have been huge in 05-07

              I had Collazo beating Hatton.

Hatton-Tszyu was a competitive fight. A lot of people had it quite even going into the championship rounds. Tyszu clearly wasn't shot - Hatton just wanted it more that night, he walked through some hellacious bombs.

He put everything into that one fight and that was probably his ceiling, he overachieved in his career.

                  Defintely not shot.

But very beatable at that point in his career.

Still a very good win, no doubt.

I think he was always beatable if you had the right style. Vince Phillips proved that.

Well yeah I agree with that aswell. I don't really rate Tszyu that highly. Not HOF material IMO.

But at that point, he was even more beatable. A lot more.
