  • I won't be able to watch the fight on HBO until tomorrow. With that said I thought the fight was close by what I was reading. But I just watched a crappy version on You Tube and honestly other than for the 5th round , which I gave to Pascal, I thought Sergey dominated the fight.

The night that Mugabi fought Hagler, he was amazing but the consistent beating Hagler handed him, took so much out of him, he was never the same. I also agree about Stevenson losing power later and maybe Ward is the only one who could beat Kov.
Lol , it's funny u mention that Mugabe fight . I was watching it just the other day . That best part was Mugabe's all white catholic corner trying to will him to victory by way of invoking religious shame on him form the ****** Mary for getting his ass handed to him by Haggler . I thought to myself ; What kind of corner instructors r these ? Lmao smh

I don't know how that fight could be a screwing or robbery in either direction. They fought like mirror images of each other punch for punch and neither would commit much. All that surprised me is that it was a unanimous decision and not split.

Another Plastic Man post I see , In other words a stretch ! I don't mine people rooting for the underdog but these flights into fantasy must be done away with . First off , let me say that I unequivocally believe Kovalev is Juicy J , but to call him chin glass is simply delusional

Yeah, that was odd. Mickey Duff brought Mugabi to fame and I think gave him a place to stay and helped him after he turned pro but that corner of Mugabi's was an odd match for him and the catholic influences too. His power was something else.

                • Kovalev is a f**king monster. A real life monster. He's already killed one dude in the ring, and I swear, sometimes I think he's going to kill another. His power is f**king raw as f**k. Frightening power.

Props to Pascal, though. To be able to fight back from that early near KO was greatness. We throw around the term "heart" here way too f**king much, but in this case it's 100% applicable.

                  Pascal got mad heart.

Thats not how the sport works.
Except it wasn't a flash knockdown. The ref made the proper call, but still wasted some time in Pascal's favor anyway.

I also like how you conveniently left out the part where the ropes held Pascal up, which would have far more clout of being called a knockdown.

                    • Bad stoppage? Guess ya'll missed the part where Pascal couldn't tell where the ropes were after Kovalev got up from his slip, also wouldn't be any controversy if folks had seen how Jean stumbled his way face first into the corner while the ref is calling him back to action before the camera panned on him again...people also clearly didn't hear the ref asking him if he was ok just before he ate two more hellacious punches five seconds after that. Hell even Kovalev points at John David Jackson and flashes his mouth guard over it.. But it was an unfair stoppage...go figure.
