Bell Centre, Montreal, Canada - WBO/IBF/WBA light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (27-0-1, 24KOs) stopped Jean Pascal (28-3-1, 17KOs) in the eight round. Kovalev also picks up the WBC's Diamond belt with the victory.

Kovalev controlled the first two with his boxing. Pascal started landing very well in the third and rallied, but then got rocked bad at the end of the round where he nearly went through the ropes and it was scored as a knockdown. Kovalev controlled the fourth but saw himself get buzzed near the end of the round after Pascal landed two hard counters.

Good effort by Pascal; it made for an interesting fight, but Kovalev was not to be denied.

Heredia's PEDs didn't save Pascal from a much superior fighter as Kovalev.

PEDs can help you a lot but they dont make miracles
