The other difference is that Haymon cherry picked Salka specifically. It wasn't because of a lack of options for Garcia. There was literally a queue of top fighters ready to take on Garcia but they chose Salka.

Golovkin is having to pick someone out of an average bunch because he has no other option.

Let's see what attributes fans look for when finding an acceptable GGG opponent

      No he's not

      He is also a southpaw.

So the best you guys have to justify this cherry pick is that he's a career middleweight and a southpaw? That's when you KNOW you have a cherry pick.

It was more a choice by default, really. I wanted Monroe to get more experience - at least two more fights - before fighting someone as good as Golovkin. Tureano isn't necessarily a superior fighter, but he has that deep amateur background and I don't see him getting any better. As far as Monroe, a boxer with his style needs a lot of time and the right fights to hone his skills, and unlike Tureano he has room for improvement in my opinion.

          It's beggars belief.

The fact Garcia is in a pretty loaded division makes that cherry pick even more disgraceful.

I'm curious, of the available WILLING opponents out there, who would have been a better choice??

I really hope that Dunn is getting some kind of monetary reward from Haymon for this.

Maybe, but at least Adama had championship experience.

Well if you look at this thread, a few posters hadn't heard of willie either.

I get your point and agree. My point is willie, no matter where he is ranked, has no chance to win. Salka had no chance to win. Both have no chance because Garcia/GGG are much better than they are.
