Obviously Ward wants the fight but only on certain terms. The Froch fight would be his biggest payday, but Ward isn't exactly broke and desperate. Roc Nation overpays their fighters with some pretty large guarantees. Like I said, I'm pretty sure Ward will pass on this fight rather than have Froch call the shots. At the end of the day, Ward isn't going to let Froch dictate.

If he does, then he loses out. Froch will fight B-Hop or Chavez instead.

Doesn't really matter who he fights, he's signed to Roc Nation. Go look at the contract they offered Broner. Ward is getting paid regardless. He doesn't lose out.

As mentioned already in this thread Ward is a modern version of Winky Wright. He is a highly skilled fighter with sometimes not the most crowd pleasing style, the best fighter in his division but fans in general don't care much for him.

Money and their own egos ruin many potentially good fights.

Carl Froch & his people are bit confusing...

After Ward convincingly beat Carl all the discussion from Froch's side has been negative & dismissive...

Ward is boring, his style is unappealing, he can't sell ect...ect...Yet it seems every time Froch opens his mouth Andre Wards name falls out...I really think that loss was an extremely difficult pill to swallow & the fact that he was not competitive is unacceptable to Froch...

He should prolly fight Ward again & get some closure...if not I think it will be regretful on his part...

If Froch wants to vacate at that point then that's on him. I think Andre would rather forget the fight instead of being dictated by a guy he already beat.
The fight would make a lot more money in the UK than in the US, so that means Hearn can bid higher than Roc, unless Roc are planning to stage it in the UK themselves.

Froch has other options that would earn him as much as he would get for fighting Ward, and the "regular" belt means nothing to him. Ward doesn't have those other options. He would be getting a lot of money for this, so if he really believes he can beat Froch easily he'd be crazy not to start negotiating with Hearn straight away, and forget about the purse bids.

Ward will probably have a tuneup fight no matter what . If the the WBA purse bid split is 75/25 in favor of Ward, there's no way Froch will want it to go to purse bid. So if Froch wants to keep his belt, they'll make a deal to let Ward have a tuneup first and postpone the their fight for a later date.
