Agree , there is NOTHING in it for Froch aside from another L if he goes to Oakland.
for Ward he gets : biggest payday , AMAZING exposure , reputation for going to a tough homecourt @ Froch back yard , fast track to the top of P4P.
if Ward doesnt fight Froch , he gets : no payday (or a small one) , no exposure , bad rep from the fans for denying a big fight , and no progress in his carrer (even going backwards).
Froch is like Chavez , they both bring in tons of money on their own , and in turn can PICK who they want to fight.
if they fight each other ,they easily make a killing and Froch can win it as well in a warrior kind of fight.
i was very supprised hearing froch calling AW like that , and i will be very dissapointed in AW if he declines it.

The part they seem to forget is that Ward is already 31.

Mayweather was already a solid draw pre-Oscar, then became the massive draw at age 30 thanks to a super fight in which he let Oscar dictate all the terms.

Ward is already that age and isn't even a decent draw, outside of Oakland nobody gives a crap. On top of that he has a massive ego/entitlement issue, refuses to travel, won't accept being the B side when he clearly is and is also extremely boring in and out of the ring.

In this case Froch doesn't need this fight to happen, at all. So he can certainly dictate to Ward to a point. If Ward wants to get back in the driver's seat he has two options. The first is take the shitty deal Froch will no doubt offer him for the fight, which will almost certainly include going to England. The second is get back in the ring, make some noise, and make it harder for Froch to ignore him.

If he can't or won't do either of those things then he's just wasting everyone's time.

The one who wins the pursebid is the A-side in this case. Its not like there's a lot of other options. Either you take the fight promoted by the winning promotor or you vacate your title. It's pretty much all or nothing.

1. The fight is in Oakland, as usual with Ward since he's to chicken s h it to fight outside of Oakland.

2. He hugs, holds and headbutts his way to an ugly win.

3. GGG has the Flu and the Runs the day of the fight.

GGG, you heard it here first, would be the first fighter to make Ward quit or KO his sorry a s s! GGG should change his nickname to the Soul Snatcher! Besides why is Ward worried about a Middleweight when he should be worrying about actually fighting again in his own division!

While I disagree with the notion that this would somehow be a 'ducking' situation by Ward, I do think you have a point in that to get the biggest audience, England is the place.

But for Roc Nation, who seems to be willing to burn a bit of cash to get on the map, I think they'd be willing to spend a bit to make their guy happy and if HBO is smart, they'll promote the schist out of this fight..........Roc Nation now has two of their best draws under contract..........

But if they don't and the fight is indeed ordered, were I Ward, I'd make it clear I'm doing this one time and one time only and ONLY to answer the questions of whether I've still got it and can beat the second best fighter in my division easily again.

After that, any fight at 168, he has to have the bigger say as being the legit SMW Champion, whether is challenger draws better or not.........once he beats Golovkin, EVERYONE will know Ward. And he'll do fine.....
