Middleweight is pretty bad, outside of Golovkin it is a cesspit and has been for like 2 decades.

Golovkin is clearly the best guy, there are some challenges that could be out there but they aren't really interested in him. There are a couple big 154 pounders who could fit in but I would say those dudes would want paid for that fight and I don't think Golovkin is getting paid well enough to justify that unless his team is willing to take the short money to beat people up (very unlikely because none of those dudes are worth that).

He can hang at 160 if he wants but he better dominate because the second he shows weakness against the crowd available the jackals will be all over him. That probably happens even if he moves to 168 and doesn't find huge success but at least in that case he would have gone down swinging, no shame in that and only tremendous jackasses would dog him badly over that (after a week or so of getting after some people anyway).

I for one think that comment is ****** and selfish. Murray and Geale are much better fighters than Jacobs and Quillin. I feel people are only calling the middleweight division trash because GGG is handling everyone so easily.

But maybe just maybe GGG is that good.

And a side note, was isn't Lightweight, Jr. Lightweight, and Crusierweight getting all this hate. Those division are just as bad if not worst than Middleweight.
No it's just one guy is making everyone look average kind of like Roy Jones did in the 90's

Teddy needs his local NY fighters to be beaten to a pulp before he can buy in, he doesn't know or watch (and therefore rate) the overseas guys.

In short, he's ignorant when it comes to global boxing.

It's an average division which predictably became "the worst in boxing" to certain US fans when Golovkin's reign began.

And Ward is waiting for him to step up, (too bad his fans dont want him to aspire for greatness). The same thing alot of you screamed for floyd to do, you wont ask of GGG and he's gonna be held to the same standards you screamed about when it was someone else. Suck it up! Floyd has fought more World Champions than anyone in history and his resume is questioned, yep GGG's resume is worse than any champion currently in boxing. When your best competition is degale in your boxing career you are a hype job. Ward will fight you, you dont have to fight the guys he fight, he chooses to fight less comp cause he's not as confident as his fans think.

who really knows, but consider this, p4p #3 sergio martinez was in competitive fights with the level of guys golovkin is obliterating

competitive fight and kd'd by macklin
              competitive fight with barker
              arguably loss vs murray

golovkin has barely even lost a round against the same level of guys

I'd favor Murray over Jacobs and it would be a pick 'em with Quillin.

He won't watch GGG again until he fights these guys who can't fight GGG even if they want to, but he'll watch Jacobs and Quillin who are fighting lessor opponents than GGG lol. I'm not a fan of Friday Night Fights ending, but if Haymon replaces Atlas at least we have that to look forward too. Guy is a clown, talked the entire round, scores the round even though he clearly isn't paying attention, then screams robbery in a close fight that he wasn't even paying attention to half the time as if his card is the only right card lol. Can't stand this guy.
I agree that Atlas can be ****** and unfair. The guy never shuts up. He insults the courage of pro boxers. I don't mean to sound racial but Atlas seems to favor American black fighters over overseas fighters. Here he praises Quillin and Jacobs and trashes GGG. But GGG has the better record and would be a huge betting favorite if he fought either of them. Atlas never likes overseas fighters who make it big. He never liked Wlad or Pacquiao and now he doesn't like GGG. Atlas has a permanent high paying job as a boxing commentator but I have no respect for his opinion. When he picks the winner of future fights he is wrong about 80% of the time.

Well overall it is certainly not one of the best Division in Boxing Today especially with Chavez Jr leaving it and Sergio Martinez career seeming to be Virtually OVER!

Then you have people in it who don't belong in it like Cotto, that waters down the Division especially when he hold at title. It is guys currently at 154 who will likely be at 160 Soon. Canelo move up to 160 would spark the Division and instantly making GGG vs Canelo a huge fight. Erislandy Lara could move up (yeah yeah so don't like his style but that doesn't remove the fact that he is one of the better fighters in boxing today). 147-154 is where the MONEY is because that is where Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto and Canelo fights!

The division is definitely not the best. But GGG is definitely also THAT good in my opinion.

Take GGG away and you have an awful division where some say Martin Murray would be the best. GGG doesn't change that, but he does add excitement to the division and puts it on the map of current boxing - so to speak.

I think the middleweights are of average quality overall. GGG is just a great fighter who could KO all of them. A fighter as good as GGG would dominate and kick ass no matter what weight class his natural size put him in. Quillin, Geale, Jacobs, Lee and Murray are all good fighters and some of them might beat Cotto but they are not in GGG's class.
