Gabriel Peñagarícano, adviser to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, says the recent announcement of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao has no effect on his fighter.
Last month, when Cotto's negotiations with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fell apart, most people felt he had done so in order to chase a rematch with Mayweather. That rumor was killed last Friday, when Mayweather announced he was facing Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
That doesn't mean Cotto has been left out in the cold.
