WTF is wrong with u people? He has an optional defense before Golovkin becomes his mandatory so why the **** should he jump right after GGG? Wait till the end of the year and see Golovkin fight again so he can scout him even more. Cotto just won the title and he has an voluntary defense he should take it make that money and then let the Golovkin fight marinate till the end of the year or early next year.

Why does his optional defense have to be a welterweight??? Please, someone, anyone, explain it to me. I want to know why he has to fight someone 2 divisions lower for his voluntary as opposed to someone in his own weight class. These actions almost certainly give away that he has no intentions of facing actual middleweights. Like why would you fight Brandon Rios if your next fight is supposed to be GGG???
