    floyd kicked cotto's ass already.

i would imagine they'll consider it for september. not so sure a lot of people will want to pay 40 bucks for the fight after paying 100 bucks for may/pac. than again what if manny beats floyd and the rematch is made for september? june is probably the best bet.

I'm pretty sure that 100% of the bold is completely made up. I didn't realize we had an insider to the negotiations posting on this board.
ODH is on record as trying to make Canelo the next PPV star. where have his PPv's taken place? Has Canelo ever fought on the east coast? The notion that you would put a budding PPV attraction like Canelo in a road fight is preposterous.

The fight is almost surely in vegas or texas in any other month except June because in June with the PR day parade weekend there is a chance you can make more money if the fight is in the Garden.

It's not insider information, it's called reading the articles. The fight was already well known to only happen on May 2 and in Vegas to piss off Mayweather. Even that was more important for Canelo than fighting Cotto, he cared more about sticking it to Mayweather.

People here openly know he only wanted it on for May 2, and this link will show you Canelo said Vegas, May 2 AND 50/50. He was a diva, and HE walked away not Cotto. He has a fight signed, not Cotto... yet somehow it's all Cotto's fault.

              difference is canelo was young.

              he can theoretically improve.

              cotto is not.

So Hopkins didn't get better as he got older? Even Floyd has gotten better as he's gotten older in my opinion. Anyone can run from a punch, to stand in the pocket and not get hit clean is 100x's more skillfull. Look at JMM, he's obviously gotten MUCH better with age... Please, anyone can get better as they get older.

Just because Canelo has fought in Texas/Cali/Vegas it doesn't necessarily follow that he will NEVER fight on the East Coast or in June. He has proven that he will fight the best on a consistent basis on dates he doesn't prefer (i.e. non-Mexican holiday weekends). Fighting in NY is not even the issue. It just makes much better business sense to fight on May 5th (a Mexican holiday), where Canelo was a part of the fight that set all of the PPV records. Canelo has sold just as many PPVs as Cotto on non-Mexican Holidays, and when he does fight on those Holidays he sets records. Cotto probably wanted it his way, when he can't really sell fights like that. I'll agree with you on that.

Like I said, the conclusion you're deriving from your premises doesn't follow. It's just a guess dressed up as an argument you present as some sort of psuedo-fact.
