Santa Cruz gets paid more fighting bums. Why is their salary so low compared to boxers? If their PPVs are doing so well, shouldn't their salary should be higher? Thoughts?
I have been hearing this mma is taking over boxing for 15 years now. If it would happened by now. It ain't happening.

Honestly? UFC is much healthier than boxing.

Boxing can get to heights that UFC cannot, but it is very rare in boxing, while UFC gets good numbers consistently.

Boxing is a greater sport, and the dynamics we have are going to remain. UFC will do year around PPV, with consistent numbers.

Boxing will from time to time, explode. Floyd Pac might do the equivalent of 1 years worth of UFC PPV. But once they retire UFC might beat boxing for a decade, perhaps forever.

But overall PPV numbers for UFC I believe FAR exceed boxing.

This is just for the year 2013, the ppv UFC did.

      02/02/2013 UFC 156 Aldo vs Edgar 330,000
      02/23/2013 UFC 157 Rousey vs Carmouche 450,000
      03/16/2013 UFC 158 GSP vs Diaz 950,000
      04/27/2013 UFC 159 Jones vs Sonnen 530,000
05/25/2013 UFC 160 Velasquez vs Bigfoot II 380,000
      06/15/2013 UFC 161 Henderson vs Evans 140,000
      07/06/2013 UFC 162 Silva vs Weidman 550,000
      08/03/2013 UFC 163 Aldo vs Jung 180,000
      08/31/2013 UFC 164 Henderson vs Pettis 270,000
      09/21/2013 UFC 165 Jones vs Gustafsson 310,000
10/19/2013 UFC 166 Velasquez vs JDS III 330,000
      11/16/2013 UFC 167 GSP vs Hendricks 630,000
12/28/2013 UFC 168 Weidman vs Silva II 1,025,000

so in 2013, UFC put on 13 PPV cards! All with very healthy numbers, even breaking a million. 13 legit PPV fights in one year.

Boxing puts on what 2-3 PPV fights a year? UFC fans have it much better than us, they get tons of fights, and all the best fight each other. Have to admit, its a far better run sport. Too bad I don't like the actual sport.

We also have to pay 60 bucks for the best. Only difference is, that in UFC it happens 13 times a year, while in boxing it happens twice a year.

UFC has it waaaaaay better. How can you even argue against how amazing it is to have the best face the best? Kinda insane to do that.

Imagine all the best WWs and JWWs facing each other. All the match ups that will never happen, well in UFC they do.

Boxing will never "DIE" nor will MMA ever Surpass it especially if Boxing does its part at start matching up the Best vs Best more often and just give the fans what they want to see!

That being said, what will happen once Mayweather and Pacquiao Retires? Those are the only Legit PPV Draws in Boxing! Of course more PPV Stars will emerge in boxing eventually but can they reach Mayweather and Pacquiao Level? Not Really Sure! That is going to be difficult!

In boxing you only have 4 standard punches to understand.

No enjoyment in watching two men roll around on the floor when you have no idea wtf they are doing.

That's how UFC is for me, as soon as they go to the ground i become uninterested in the fight.

I agree, but the thing is, their striking is so rudimentary and ugly, slow, etc. Watch a good boxing match then watch stand up MMA. It's laughable.

You're wrong. Boxing beat out the UFC in PPV numbers last year for the first time since 2005.

                      UFC is downtrending.
