So Wilder turned down 10M for Povetkin.

He's American and black, so the apologists will be out in force making excuses and arguing for him. Pathetic.
He will price himself out of fights with Wlad for at least two years. Wlad is 39, so they'll wait for Father Time to do his thing and then get brave and call out a 41 year old. Haymon will badly over price him.
Idiots will be on these forums calling him the champ, just like the delusional Brits did with Haye.Comment

Once you are champion, you are required to fight the best but too many times people get passes for this.
If he wasn't or isn't ready, don't be champ.
I get that he doesn't want to face Povetkin. I just hope whoever he fights is someone who earned their shot.Comment

Wilder's fans have zero confidence in him.
If they thought this guy was good they would be dying to see him destroy Povetkin, the #2 heavyweight in the world.
They're banking the world on him throwing a lucky punch that KOs an aging Wladimir. Anything before or after that is of no consequence.
He could defend the belt against Shannon Briggs, Kimbo Slice and Mr T and they would eat that **** up calling it the new golden age.Comment

Povetkin is the A-side, Russia is HW central, he won't make $10 million anywhere else, go to Russia.Last edited by ////; 01-29-2015, 10:06 AM.Comment

This isn't the way to go for gaining a critics respect becoming the HW equivalent of Peter Quillin.
That isn't right though he is a world champion! Hes already fought 32 lesser foes. What happened to the best wanting to fight the best? Hes not a prospect anymore. He'd take more and more money in a loss to Povetkin than he would beating on bums unworthy of a shot.
This is the problem with so many belts, its too easy to pick one up and so many divas are contempt on defending against lackluster opposition in their hometowns and not attempting to unify or defend against top opposition. Boxing needs a complete overhaul.
Once again I'd like to thank the promoter Al HaymonComment
