That's his job, not getting his ass beat by Povetkin. I doubt his handlers would even ALLOW him to sign such a contract.
^^^ That's almost all to be said on this issue...

It is a big deal but if they are offering 10 now what will they offer in the future? I don't think Wilder is thinking about losing which is what really blows that money.

Povetkin is straight up a tough fight for Wilder and in Moscow that is asking a lot off the rip from a guy that just won a belt that most people didn't think was any good in the first place.

You said he can get that elsewhere. $10m is not the same as $2m.

            Easy solution - rematch clause.

Think long term. You get 10mil for 3 fights whilst building your brand in your home country .

By that time you're an even bigger star and then you fight wlad in America in wlads last career fight in a humongous fight possibly on NBC network television.

Or you go to Russia, get robbed/lose a close fight etc. and lose the very thing that's making you money- the WBC belt. Stiverne wilder did big ratings because the belt was on the line

He needs to face Povetkin before Klitschko. I think Povetkin is better than Fury. I think his team turned it down because Povetkin poses more technical challenges than Fury and even Klitschko in some ways. I can't offer an excuse for this but in my opinion, Wilder needs to face Povetkin, and look better at beating him than Grabomir Klinchko.

They haven't updated their rankings AFAIK. Looks like it would be Jennings or Povetkin based on what they were prior to the Wilder-Stiverne fight. This the WBC though, they can always invent more belts.
