If Arum is not the issue, why did CBS exec Moonves call him "the devil?"

Following a Pacquiao-Algieri worldwide publicity tour, Roach said he urged Moonves to meet with Arum at the promoter’s Beverly Hills home.

“They didn’t like each other,” Roach said of a strain that dated to Pacquiao’s return to HBO after fighting one bout on Showtime in 2011. “Bob promised [Moonves] three fights … and only gave him one. … [Moonves] actually told me, ‘I’m not dealing with the devil.’ ”

“I kind of sneakily put them together, about four months ago. I knew it was risky. … [Moonves] wanted to make the fight without Bob and I said, ‘That’s not going to happen, you’ve got to bring him in.’

Arum is and will always be "the devil!" Freddie knows that, that's why he had to "...kind of sneakily put them together..."

That was about pac going back to HBO after the Mosley fight. Nothing to do with Floyd.

Goes both ways. Why is the head of CBS personally meeting with Arum/HBO if he doesn't have assurance from Mayweather that he wants the fight?

Same reason the Head of HBO mediated the second round of negotiations before Floyd pulled out last minute and went on a woman-beating 'vacation'.

He has no reason to believe that any problems exist in making the fight. If Pac/Bob have agreed to all of Floyd's demands... then why wouldn't there be a fight?

Thats if you believe Arum that all demands have been met and the only keeping this from happening is Mayweather's approval, which is ridiculous to assume at face value.

Everyone else seems to be holding to an agreement that the fight negotiations should be conducted privately, except Arum. Is this his way of sabotaging the negotiations?

If what Arum says is actually the truth then Mayweather has let everyone, and most of all himself, down here and boxing fans should boycott whatever fight he takes instead of Pacquiao!

No, the fact arum is out. It means they can't get Floyd out of the mouse hole. It also means the fight is not looking good as we all know by now everyone is on board even al haymon. They have done all that they could so coming out and exposing the truth is the last recourse.

It just shows Floyd is really not up to the challenge.

Common sense and history tells us the opposite actually.... Arum has put Pac in with Hatton, De La Hoya etc... Floyd-Haymon have not fought anyone outside of Haymon's control... Floyd has ducked fights throughout his career... Floyd has always had issues with reaching agreements with fighters and adding conditions on fighters... Floyd also fights in one venue for every fight... without even hearing offers from others...

But what about the 2 fighters you named Arum put Pac in with, aren't those 2 fighters outside Haymon's control? It's ok to have an agenda but don't be so obvious.

If Showtime/CBS came back to Arum with Manny's side agreed...then they have agreed...now Floyd has a history of making agreements...and then adding conditions at the end of not wanting to go through with the agreements...

Both of those fights were under Golden Boy Promotions which Mayweather has used for every fight... when has Mayweather co-promoted with a company besides Golden Boy?

Arum also put De La Hoya in with Trinidad..he's co-promoted with Cotto on so many fights as well...
