The kind of power he does? He looks to seriously lack power for a 6'8" heavyweight.

Again, I highly recommend you stop limiting yourself strictly to US televised boxing. All of your rankings will be thrown out the window and you'll realize you've been watching the B-team.
I think it was pretty clear from his fight with stiverne that wilder's power was at least somewhat overrated. stivrene has been stoped before and was hurt by aereolla. its not like his chin was cement. there's no way in hell he would have taken that many right hands from wlad without falling hard. wlads punches seem much heavier than wilder's

Ok fine, I'll grant you that point but can we agree that if Stiverne would have opened up and thrown more punches as opposed to covering up so defensively he would have been another one of Wilder's KO victims?

Why fight both guys when one of them can strengthen their position by beating the other guy.
come on man! who are you trying to convince? this was a set up right from the beginning. They are not going to go to that much trouble & not have a fight. I was so impressed with wlad after the beating he gave pulev that I didn't want him to take a step back. lennox lewis took him out in 5 rounds when he was in his prime. lennox retired over 10 years ago. This is a farce & a cherry pick. He wants an easy pay day & there is no other reason. the german fans would watch him fight ross puritty in a rematch. there are several fights he could make that would be better then briggs & everyone knows it.

the stiverne stoppage was actually pretty bad. that was the king fight. I own the fight. you can't measure wlad vs wilder. stiverne has never been off his feet so you can't say wlad would put him there. monte barrett dropped haye & how many times did wlad drop haye? that's just an example. I don't recall arreola hurting stiverne in either fight. I have been one to question wilder's skill but the power is legit...

wlad didnt land any real clean right hands on haye like wilder did on stiverne. im not saying wlad would have starched stiverne im just saying if he landed as many clean right hands as deontay did I couldnt see him still standing. even durable opponents of wlad seem to fall whenever he lands a clean power punch. I think deontay has very good power but not quite up there with wlads. lets not forget stiverne was also severely dehydrated so it is a bit puzzling that he was able to absorb wilders power shots like he did

I actually thought from the minute stiverne entered the ring he looked off. he took some good punches & was staggered a couple times. I guess he was dehydrated but he had the same plan he used with arreola & Austin. which I said all along would not work against wilder because of his power. he could take arreola & Austin's best punches. He played possum with both & set them up when they thought they were in control. I thought he would be more aggressive but he wasn't. he sat there & tried to walk through the punches & it didn't work. stiverne underestimated wilder's power in my opinion dehydrated or not. I always questioned wilder but he answered any questions I had. I always took into account his destruction of liakhovich. yes the white wolf was past his best but nobody had crushed him like that. even showtime guys didn't know what to say other then WOW! both wilder & wlad can crack but I don't want either to fight briggs...

              • The German fans want to see this.

Briggs should fight one or two tune-ups before September.

What Wlad should do is hire Briggs as a sparring partner. Therefore for just a couple thousands dollars a week he can beat the snot out of him legally. It would be a win win situation for Wlad.
HBO is gonna say Briggs is a fearsome Puncher that has a good Chance of winning against Klitschko. They will say he punches like a horse. Oh no wait, thats what they do here in Germany when the home-fighter fights some unknown challenger that nobody knows.....

                    • If Wlad fights Briggs it will be an absolute disgrace to the history of the sport and that is coming from a Wald fan.
