Maybe Wlad saw the Wilder-Stiverne ratings and realized how much more $$$ you make beating up cans in the US vs fighting strong but unpopular opposition like Pulev in Europe.

what guy wlads size or bigger has ever given him trouble? mccline? wach? jefferson? austin? thompson? granted wilder is more athletic than those other big guys but if anything wlad seems to do better with the bigger taller heavyweights that he doesnt have to reach down forClearly a biased opinion coming from you with Kell Brook and Anthony Joshua in your disp and sig. Not taking this serious at all.
Wilder is bad news for Wlad. Wlad bullies these smaller fighters and often times like a sissy, hitting and holding, hugging his way through the rounds. If he has an active younger stronger taller fighter who is more athletic and has a good jab, it will cause him fits. Not saying Wilder is better but Wlad im sure is not in any rush to take that fight if he can pick on the old Briggs and younger but non threatening Jennings of the world.Comment

Even if Wilder has a better chance of beating Wlad, I'm not sure what you'd be basing that on? He mowed through a bunch of nobodies and beat the worst looking Stiverne ever by staying way out of range.Clearly a biased opinion coming from you with Kell Brook and Anthony Joshua in your disp and sig. Not taking this serious at all.

There's nothing really indicative of how he would do against guys who are both better boxers and physically larger than he is like Wlad and Fury.
Younger yes, Wilder is younger.
Stronger, you must be kidding, Wilder is tall but in muscle mass he will be one of the smallest guys Wlad has faced in a long time. He would be wrestling him around with ease.
Wlad has way more power, Stiverne ate everything Wilder threw.
More athletic? Against based on what? His footwork looked very clumsy to me and he was gassing out just from punching Stiverne in the forehead after 4 rounds.Last edited by ////; 01-21-2015, 08:47 PM.Comment

I remember when the standard Wlad excuse was that he was just "taller than everyone"... Since then some of his easiest fights ever were guys his size or bigger.what guy wlads size or bigger has ever given him trouble? mccline? wach? jefferson? austin? thompson? granted wilder is more athletic than those other big guys but if anything wlad seems to do better with the bigger taller heavyweights that he doesnt have to reach down forComment

I will be the first to admit that all the head knocking these two used to do was very funny at the time but not now. This time Wlad has gone too far. He needs to step up and challenge a real fighter with the potential of defeating him and who more than fits that bill other than Deontay Wilder? Besides who would want to see him beat up a 55 year old man anyway? He has nothing to prove.Comment

You are severely limiting yourself by deliberately ignoring all boxers outside of the US, which must be the case if you're asking such a question.Comment

No no. He wants to fight briggs in september. this aint a jokeComment

There's really no excuse for this unless he fights 3+ times in 2015. Jennings is a good oppoment.
Briggs is a vacation fight, he would need to sign something big like Fury right afterwards or face severe criticism.Comment

Yes a quick glance through boxrec will get you hundreds of fighters with an astounding 100% (perfect) KO ratio against the type of opposition Wilder (bums) faced prior to the Stiverne fight, who he didn't KO.Originally posted by champion4everCan you name one with a better KO ratio than his and is undefeated and possess the kind of power he does? If you can then I would certainly like to know.
The kind of power he does? He looks to seriously lack power for a 6'8" heavyweight.
Again, I highly recommend you stop limiting yourself strictly to US televised boxing. All of your rankings will be thrown out the window and you'll realize you've been watching the B-team.Comment
