Kathy duva has some points. There have been fighters in the past who demanded extra testing and they were the ones who failed, canceling the fight. She's a businesswoman and that would hurt her pockets. Also there is such thing as false positives and there is already regulated testing so why put fighters at an extra risk of false positives. Diva is a businesswoman not an athletic commission, she cares about the fight happening not putting in place things that could potentially ruin a fight being made. Kovakev agreed to the testing, duva is against it, Pascal signed the contract he is just making excuses for when he gets beat there will be a question mark, even though its complete b.s.

Jeez we got people in here acting like kovalev failed a steroid test ,am I missing something, as tough as it is to get good fights in boxing no one wants to see this fight cancelled because god forbid pascal or kovalev take some sketchy creatine product or have enhanced testosterone, I mean If I dont rub one out in a few days ill have an elevated testoterone level, do we really want to see this fight cancelled over that

If you're not doing year round, you're not doing random testing, simple as that. Spare me the "its better than nothing". No, its not. Its a joke. Yes, even when Berto and those other clowns got caught. If its not year round, its not catching the guys who are doping out of training camp, which is an essential healing period.
I don't agree with any of this ^^^^^. If it's not year round, at least let them cheat leading up to the fight. That makes no sense whatsoever. Of course the test should be year round, but it's not. I'll take testing from when a fight is signed, until fight night. Something is always better than nothing. Duva made Kovalev look suspect with those answers. I don't accuse any fighters of being dirty, but I won't be shocked if any test positive either. Stop with the excuses, if any fighter turn down a blood test. There's going to be questions. And that's how it should be. At least until we get year round testing, on all possible.

Now Kovalev, who is going to touch him after this? Who is going to fight him without testing? And if he refuses again, was he ever what they made him out to be?

No matter what happens with Pascal, Kovalev is marked. You can bet everyone he fights after is demanding testing. The bum just got exposed.
Didn't you read the articles? Kovalev and his manager agreed to do the random testing if Pascal paid for it, but Duva is saying no.

Or maybe you think she just saying no because she doesn't believe Kovalev is clean? That's possible of course, but it doesn't mean Kovalev must be dirty, or that he has been exposed. It's all just speculation.

If Pascal was worried about PEDs he should have addressed this before signing the contract.

Regardless, should have put it in the contract, don't complain after.

As for Kovalev and his team, obviously if he doesn't do it he'll be suspected so they'll have to make that decision if not taking tests is worth the potential backslash.
It's not just about not doing it. When you try to tweak the tests, cut off dates and want to know when you'll be tested, you're su****ious and probably juicing.

You should post all the times you called Peterson Pederson.

Correct he should have had it in the contract. He did miss out, but this is not good either way because whoever he tries to fight next will. And kovalev can't say no or else no one will want to sign off to fight a juicer.

So you don't care if they shoot up in between rounds? Cheating is cheating! If God forbid, one of them fail a test. Then he doesn't deserve this fight or recognition. Of course I want the best fights. But I want the best fights between the best natural fighters.

                      I applaud Duva!
What she says makes perfect sense. There are more negatives, than positives in today's testing format.
PED testing ruined careers of many athletes, due to mistakes and negligence in testing protocol. Some of them spent years in court afterwards just to clear their names. While others were never caught, but eventually admitted to having juiced for years of their active careers.
PED testing in its current form is just an element of PR for promotion teams. No more than that.
