Yes we know this was all said.....But it will be ignored....
As a Cotto fan, I never thought he won the fight. I also thought Floyd would never rematch him because he didn't have to. And yes, at this point in their careers, I think Cotto under Freddie can do better. And maybe win. Now does that excuse Floyds blatant duck of the fight the entire world has been waiting for going 5 yrs now??? Of course not!!!

Out of all the hundreds of bull**** titles, the lineal crown is the most important and really the only one that matters. Its supposed to be the way to distinguish the best fighter in the weight class. To be the man you have to beat the man. Which is the case with the MW crown, Hopkins unified, Taylor beat Hopkins, Pavlik beat Taylor, Martinez beat Pavlik and Cotto beat Martinez. This lineage is over a decade. For it to end by essentially two blown up welterweights would be a shame.

Sorry that I care more about the sport and integrity of lineages than some BS rematch that the fans aren't even asking for. It's us fans that should demand better out of the fighters, promoters, sanctioning bodies, etc.

Also, if you looked at Floyds career he's stated at every turn that Emmaneul Augustus was his toughest fight prior to Cotto. The guy interviewing him even mentions it before Floyd answers Cotto. It wasn't a closely scored fight but every round except extremely hard earned. Floyd has slowed down just enough and Cotto's in much better shape now. 2 or 3 more clean punches in 3 or 4 close rounds could mean all the difference.
In a 2013 or 2014 interview with Showtime, Steve Farhood asked him what his toughest fight was and he said it was Emmanuel Augustus. Floyd was saying that even a no-name fighter can give you your hardest tests or something like that. I cant find a damn clip on youtube but I remember seeing it. Just food for thought.

            Floyd said they negotiating

And the usual about being A side which we heard a thousand times already

Let's believe him on this one.

Floyd sr said after the maidana fight that Floyd is a true 140 pounder. As you get older you lose power unless you're a steroid specimen like Marquez. 155 pounds vs cotto I don't see it at this stage of Floyd's career.

Mayweather is not fighting cotto guys. Smh.

Mayweather would defend all 3 of those belts at 147

                I doubt it.

He didn't want that to happen the first time.

                  No one wants this fight.

Let's say Mayweater-Pacquaio happens and Mayweather wins and Cotto doesn't lose then I can see it for Septemeber.

But next? No. No one wants it, and it would be a joke if it happened.

                      I can't either.

But that's the rumours, and it does worry me.

Floyd and team must know if they announce a Cotto fight the backlash will be ridiculous.

They have no reason to not fight Pacquaio. He's agreed, or willing to agree, to terms.
