That's not true. Top Rank has a lucrative multi-fight deal with HBO for Pacquaio. The number and details are undisclosed though. But it's not far off from what Mayweather gets. Anywhere between $18 to mid $20 million per fight.

I don't see this fight going down. And imagine if Pacquaio loses?
I see all of your points, but at the same time I think Pacquiao is looking for a big money fight. What other big money fight is out there for him if Mayweather declines the fight?

The risk for both fighters is worth the reward because it's the biggest fight each can make.

And this is boxing, Pacquiao who is no longer in his prime could lose against any opponent on any given night. . Don't you think it be better for him to lose in a big money fight against Nelo than have a bad night against a Jessie Vargas type opponent?

There's a reason those fights were held in Macau, don't worry, he's getting paid.. likely more than that.

              Idea!

How about to force Foney to fight Pac, they announce that there's negotiations for Pac vs Kahn and Nelo vs Quillin on the undercard.. For May 2

              Too much?

I do indeed like the fight, I'm not against it. I just don't see it happening from a business standpoint because of the risks. Canelo has a lot to lose (not a whooole lot, but enough to setback his superstar status even more). And Pacquaio has even more to lose (the most lucrative fight in boxing history). Pacquaio is also too experienced for Vargas, I don't see him having a bad night. Although I do think Vargas would put up a much better showing than did Algieri. Vargas is a safe fight man and keeps the whole Mayweather fight alive for later.

This is coming from the same guy that said that he'd take Lemiux over 10 Al Haymon fighters because he thinks David is cute.

I am sorry but it's hard to take you serious now Oscar.

Canelo/Pac is less likely to happen than Mayweather/Pac. Manny will no go above 150 and Canelo will not go for a catchweight again he said, even though he's last 3 fights were at one but that's beside the point. Canelo at any weight would get clowned by Manny and at 150 he's be near death. And I'm not bull****ting, that's 5 pounds on a guy already in great shape, that fight isn't happening.

Canelo going up against Floyd on HBO is fine with me. I ordered the Martinez/Chavez Jr fight and watched Canelo on DVR, I'll gladly do that again. If they are on the same night as Mayweather/Cotto II and on PPV, I'll still get the Mayweather fight regardless, but if he's fighting GGG I might pay for that too just to see Canelo get a Cotto/Margarito beating without the bricks. That's well worth the price of admission but it's still not going to out buy Mayweather/Cotto II.

I personally don't mind Canelo sticking to the May 2nd date. Unless it's Floyd vs Pac then Canelo can switch to some time in June. Until then, props to Canelo for sticking to his guns.
