but if Arum and DLH want to stick it to Mayweather and Cotto, wouldn't putting a Alvarez/Pacquiao fight and competing for the same date make sense?
I of course would rather watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao and Canelo vs Cotto, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.Comment

Exactly! Once he wins the belt which he obviously would what's he going to do unify against Ggg? Lol obviously not so it would just be a fake championship to pad his recordIts a disgrace because of
1. His CW grandstanding, for years
2. Cause he won a couple of belts at 154 vs blown up dudes, then first time he faces a natural Sww he imposes a CW. His fans: "leave him alone, he's too small". So wtf is he doing cherrypicking a heavier belt vs blown up Cotto if he's too small for Sww? Fakest champ everComment

HBO doesn't guarantee pacquiaos contract, bob arum does unlike ShowTime who guarantees mayweather 32 million. That's how they Lose money. Arum just pays HBO a certain percentage of the ppv money like 5-10 percent and that's it.Comment

It's because of Manny's poor PPV lately that I believe Arum and Pacquiao would be willing to face Canelo above 147.
I know that Pacquiao said after the Margarito fight that he'd never fight above 147, but that is easy to say when you're selling millions of PPV's per fight. With the lack of PPV success lately, and with Nelo's desperate need to solidify himself against big named fighter, I honestly see this fight being made.
Not exactly what we would have prefer but it's something.Comment

Um if it's at a catchweight of 154.5 then they just can't weight in more then that. Either fighter can come in anything below that, it doesn't have to be from 154-154.5Do you know anything about boxing at all? A 154.5 lb catchweight for the belt means they both have to be between 154-154.5 I cant believe you didn't know something as fundamental as that, either that or you say the most completely unbelievable things in the world if it makes mayweather look like less of a bish than he already isComment

Unlikely to be made. And it's risky for both fighters. Canelo because of making the weight, it's two years later from when he last made 152. Pacquaio because Canelo is that much bigger and Pacquaio does not have the defense to where Canelo will be missing tons of shots. Instead, Canelo will be LANDING his loaded up punches. I don't see this fight going down. And imagine if Pacquaio loses? It's because of Manny's poor PPV lately that I believe Arum and Pacquiao would be willing to face Canelo above 147.
