Same ppl who were on the new and improved Cotto train after Martinez are no longer onnthat train lol, a disgrace for Floyd to capture a belt in a 6th weight class against a guy half u said would beat him with Freddie

Wasn't this said already? If the Pac-Floyd fight is made, Canelo won't fight on May 2. If it isn't made, Canelo fights on May 2 regardless of opponent, now that Cotto backed out.

Anyway, let's just hope that Pac-Floyd pulls through.

Just saying, it looks like Floyd vs Manny wont happen. There has to be a reason Cotto didnt sign to fight Canelo, he makes more money vs Floyd.

          Floyd/Cotto II
          Pacquiao/Canelo
          Khan/Bradley

The year can still be great without Manny vs Floyd. But as long as people dont give Manny a pass to face another bum at 140.
I actually wrote a thread about this a few days ago.
I said that with Canelo & Cotto talks feeling like they were falling apart and the fact that Canelo was already starting workouts, indicated that they were going to try to approach Pacquiao for a possible catchweight fight.

It honestly makes sense. If Canelo is adamant about fighting on May 2nd then only he and Pacquiao would compete with a Mayweather card.

The catchweight would of course be the tough part, but as I said if Chavez Jr. who as at 200lbs plus before the Martinez fight could come down to 160, Nelo could come down to 152-53.

The fight would be at a brand new weightclass called "the super welterweight/Jr middle wieght, who just finished eating a double quarter pounder"

I don't think it's a total letdown. Mayweather/Cotto 2 will undoubtedly sell a lot of PPV's, but you're right when you say people about it being a letdown after all the Mayweather/Pacquiao talks.

It's sort of like being told by your wife that she'll have a nice juicy steak ready with a side of mashed potatoes and cheddar broccoli when you get home from work and then when you get there, there isn't a steak. You get her specialty: meatloaf. I mean, you've had it before...and it's unlike any other meatloaf, and it's really good...but for once, just once...you'd rather have something different in a steak...even if it ends up being not as good as the meatloaf you've had before...if only for a sake of change.

                  Its a disgrace because of

                  1. His CW grandstanding, for years
                  2. Cause he won a couple of belts at 154 vs blown up dudes, then first time he faces a natural Sww he imposes a CW. His fans: "leave him alone, he's too small". So wtf is he doing cherrypicking a heavier belt vs blown up Cotto if he's too small for Sww? Fakest champ ever

Hopefully Lance Pugmire's sources are legit.

He talked to someone who told him that Cotto isnt looking for Mayweather rematch and might fight Bradley instead in June, which is feasible and has been talked about in recent months or even reopen talks with Canelo.

Another thing is where would the money come from to cover both Mayweather's and Cotto's purse when the PPV wont sell as well as their first fight and when the head of CBS is getting personally involved in the Mayweather-Pacquiao talks to persumably recover some of the money lost on Mayweather?

I dont think people should give up on Mayweather-Pacquiao just yet

God I hope people get the Pacquiao/Alvarez fight out of their head, it's only going to encourage Bob to make Alvarez/Bradley. That's a fight that would actually encourage me to order Mayweather/Cotto II.
