  • Canelo / Pacquiao May 2nd

The more I think about it the more I see this fight taking place.
Oscar's tweet saying there is a possibility of a Mayweather vs Cotto fight. Arum sounding frustrated that Mayweather still hasn't signed. Even writers like Rafael saying they don't belive Mayweather will sign. All point to a real possibility of a Canelo vs Pacquiao fight.
They've talked about it before. We all know it would sell well, and could easily compete with Mayweather/Cotto for the May date. Canelo starting training early, possibly to begin dropping the lbs for a catch weight.

    Yup I see it happening.

I highly doubt it, i see where your coming from but i can't see them agreeing on a weight.

Pacquiao said he will never fight higher than 147 again after Marg and Canelo said he would never go below 154 after Floyd.

Fighters say a lot of things until they see the money. I could see a 150/152 catch weight.

I'd still watch Floyd/Cotto because it's the much better fight. Canelo would be dead trying to make anything under 154. Manny would kick the **** out of him anyway, it'd be similar to the Margarito/Manny fight.

Well of course you'd watch it, you're a Cotto fan its your opinion it would be a better fight. Most IMO would probably watch Pac/Canelo. It's a fresh fight. Pacquaio is huge with Mexicans, and we've seen cotto vs Floyd before.
As far as how competitive it will be we'll have to see. It would depend on how much Nelo struggles to make weight. As I said he's started camp early,a good nutritionist and who knows. Nelo is also a lot younger than Margarito so who knows.

All I'm saying is it has a chance of happening

But there is only 1 roach.
Cotto isn't leaving him and of course pac isn't either.

More people can buy that fight, it really wouldn't matter. Mayweather/Cotto is a more competitive fight. If you told me Cotto/GGG or Floyd/Pac on the same night... I'm getting Floyd/Pac. I'm not a huge fan of either guy but... it's a competitive fight. So many of you see a Cotto avatar and assume I drop his pants and blow him... I'm a Cotto fan not a Floyd fan, we don't do that.

I spend my money on something worth my money, not because I like a guy more than the other. I like Playstation 4 more than the Xbox One, I still bought both because they offer different things. Why people have to be on this side versus that side is mind-boggling to me. It's money that I'm spending the best value is getting that money not who I'm a fan of.

Need another example? Cotto/Bradley vs GGG/Ward which one do you think I'm buying if they go up against each other? It wouldn't be Cotto/Bradley because I don't condone paying to see someone be murdered. So I'd watch the actual fight that would be competitive. I'm a fan of his and about the only bias I have toward him is a few spots higher than most on the P4P list. I'm such a nuthugger.

I would rather watch pac vs canelo. Atleast it's something new. Cotto is cool but he's not beating floyd. To beat floyd U need to come at him nonstop, and cotto fights nothing like that.

Again the fights being more or less competitive is your opinion.
As I said with Nelo starting training early if he gets a good nutritionist he could probably make 152 fora catch weight. The guy is 24 not 34. Also with Pacquaio a bit past his prime this could make for a competitive fight.

On the other hand we've seen Cotto vs Mayweather. It will be the same result. In fact I see Mayweather being more dominant.
