why are cotto fans still talking as if the date is an issue? oscar already said if floyd/pac gets made then they will move the date, so what harm is there is signing the contract right now?
if cotto is holding out because he thinks he can get the floyd fight i would argue a canelo fight makes more sense. he will get a **** load of money + has a higher chance of winning. then he can set up a big september fight against floyd if he beats canelo.
even if he loses to canelo but the fight is close u best believe mexicans/ricans will want to see that **** again.

Cotto has a reputation of turning into a princess during negotiations where he is the A-side. I remember Martinez saying that Cotto was constantly threatening to cancel the fight unless every single demand was met.

alvared is a loud mouth idiot that got what he deserved.no only did he disrespect cotto the a-side. he also tried to screw up the may 2nd date for mayweather.( BACK FIRED ). now alvared can rematch Lara and get beat again. and he still has mayweather problems.

Now that Canelo seems to have had enough of Cotto, you never know if he'd fight GGG. I seriously don't know why people think Canelo would duck GGG?
If anything he has shown his ability to take on the tough fights. He fought Trout when he didn't have to. Fought Mayweather when he could have waited to be more seasoned. Fought Angulo only after Cotto turned down 10 million. Fought Lara when no one out there is calling out Lara.
Canelo just wants to fight! Yet dumb asses here still find a way to hate on this guy.
Ignore them. Canelo will be fine , it is Oscar that is the dumby. Every move he made since firing scheafer has been to spite Floyd and Haymon and it backfired in a big way. He should have just focused on building his fighters up instead of tearing someone else down.

I'm Puerto Rican and the truth is, Cotto isnt THAT much more popular nor a draw than Canelo at this point. Both have their cultural following and at this point I would say that Canelo's mexican fanbase is bigger than Cotto's PR fanbase.
What Cotto has over Canelo is longevity in the sport but he also has some bad losses. One to Trout and one to Pacquiao. In one he was completely outboxed and the other he was straight up demolished by a natural 140lber.
Canelo can say he holds the ppv buy record along with Floyd. Without Canelo Floyd would have done half of what he did if that.

Canelo might have some personal beef with Mayweather and willing to sacrifice money in order to slightly bring down Mayweathers numbers. Cotto just wants to maximize his money, going up against Floyd doesn't do that. Even if they get more buys than Mayweather they could have made more if they were the only fight on that night.

Why would Canelo sit down with HBO to discuss other opponents for May 2 when HBO is negotiating with SHO for a dual PPV broadcast for Mayweather-Pacquiao on May 2?
The longer this goes, the more obvious it becomes that Mayweather-Pacquiao is just a charade.
