Garcia vs Peterson at catch weight non unification fight !

The fact of the matter is that Lamont did not deserve to be fighting for chance at unification. Now he doesn't get that chance - but still has to fight someone who is good, and (if he does well) can legitimize his career again. He'll keep the belt but will probably have to face someone else tough in that fight and, to me, that restores some cred to that part of the LW title.

I might be alone on this but now I'm cool with the fight. I didn't want to look the other way on Lamont - now I don't have to.

Thurman hasent fought a single top fighter. Maidana has beat good fighters and been competetive against top oposition. Thurman needs to prove himself, he cant be graded on potential.

Khan is a talented fighter with a weak chin and low boxing IQ. He beat Maidana but he went through hell to do it. Bradley might be better then Maidana but he aint levels above him, Maidana is better then provo who gave bradley a great fight.

Porter and Maidana might go either way and Marquez is my favourite fighter but Maidana might beat him if they fight right now ( 2 years ago he would destroy Maidana).

Maidana is a top five welter right now.

Maidana might be B level but then the only A level fighters at 147 would be Floyd and Pac...no one else at 147 right now is a level above maidana.

Garcia might beat him but it wont be easy, it will be a harder fight then matthysse cause maidana has a better workrate early and he will retaliate against low blows and dirty tactics.

No, Duran had far more fights under the LW limit than above it since he came up from a lower weight. Most of Danny Garcia's career has been fought at the WW because he's been trying to boil down yet has only managed it 9 out of 29 times. It's clear what he's doing, never mind moving up, he should have been fighting at WW from the start.

The last mandatory Garcia fought was in 2013, since then he has fought Mauricio Herrera receiving a gift decision, came overweight v a career lightweight in Salka, paid Postol step-side money not to fight and now fights a fraud champion Peterson at a catchweight in a fake unification fight that isn't - all while holding two title belts.

You need to get your facts straight because that's incorrect. When Duran was lightweight champion he had more fights over the limit than he did at 135.

Like I said, Garcia is not the only fighter to do this.
