Explain how that's a good answer.
2014, Espinoza overpaid for Garcia-Salsa, Thurman-Bundini, and a host of other garbage mismatches. But then he wants you to believe that he turned down Garcia-Peterson, Thurman-Guerrero, and every other future fight Al has on NBC? So he purposefully put on glorified sparring matches and turned down good-great fights hoping that those guys will get exposure on a rival network and then come back to Show when they're bigger stars?
If Moonves doesn't axe this guy by the Summer I'll be shocked. He better pray Floyd signs on the dotted line.Comment

Man Al Haymon was thinking of a Master Plan this whole time and its working beautifully. Showtimes dough was guaranteed, why would Haymon if his intentions were to do this all of 2014 pit his fighters against other good fighters and let Oscar make money off his ppl? He was smart, by blocking those fights, he can now force their hand and make all money in house.
I bet Al signs at least another 50 fighters this yr alone. No offense to RocNation but the only thing that may help is exposure on HBO cuz they got what? 4 cards on fox for the whole yr?
Floyd gna make that money cuz u know Mayweather Promos is gna be a huge part once Richard can be CEO....they all 3 are smart businessmen.
Its been ages since boxings had a legit foothold on cable, and I think this year will def help if Al can keep these matches coming.
I wouldnt be surprised if Josesito is added in March, maybe even Arreola as well.
Im laughing at Oscar for screwing himself out of the Floyd fight and screwing himself period. Canelo is obsolete in the next yr or two. Top Rank after Manny is obsolete lol
Haymon just needs to invest in a 247 boxing channel man, or something along those lines, we all know espn sucks, as does any other mainstream sports channel, this is great for boxing even if u hate haymon, which u shouodnt nowComment

What long term plan?
Haymon doesn't s give a crap about Showtime, he wants to build his own league, and get huge multi year tv deals like UFC got with fox.
He will leave Showtime for good in no time if he got that. Showtime is completely lost here, with no back up plan. Haymon wants to build his boxing premier league as the mega brand of boxing.
He's not going to have his fighters jumping from network to network, despite what he may say now.Comment

Exactly, which should give ppl a great indication that he doesnt plan on failing. I think Als gna give us pretty great fights for 2015 and am excited.Comment

HBO will still struggle to put up great main events, let alone undercards.
I swear you haters are just hilarious..Comment

lol at the deluded fools saying this is a good answer.
This is pure drivel as per the normal spin by the rodent Espinoza. How he can openly say it was his decision to air the bum fights of 2014 and for the greater good of boxing and Showtime he's happy to allow the proper fights on a rival network is straight rofl worthy.
Steven be better looking for a new gig soon as he's going jobless.Comment

Pure deflection by Espinoza. Like someone else posted, why not CBS? You build up "your" fighters on CBS while collecting a 20 mil fee from Al. Bring them back on SHO for big events & PPV as bigger stars right? Nope. Now NBC makes out while SHO has to overpay even more to get those fighters back. The irony is, Espinoza is essentially paying Haymon to air fights on a rival network and will more than likely have to overpay to get them back. I read a report how Moonves gave Espinoza an ultimatum on the May/Pac fight and is threatening to part ways with him. Wonder how this NBC thing factors into it.Comment

Espinoza released a statement or just fed people some bullshh to save face. Your parent company has a number of avenues to showcase boxing on with some pretty damned good numbers. Hell CBS is pretty much stomping the shh out of NBC in terms of ratings and #1 shows in prime time. "We were consulted" equals "We didn't like the asking price for these fights".Comment
