I can't believe im saying this but i actually kinda feel bad for espinoza. I mean he paid for a bunch of crap fights with the promise of bigger fights on the horizon then Haymon takes those promised fights to NBC. He just got played in front of the entire boxing world....

Espinoza needs to start working with other promoters like TR, Hearn, and Roc Nation or maybe start putting on fights of the lower weight divisions, if he still wants to be the president of Showtime sports. He can't be serious about his comments of this NBC deal, he can't be happy, that he paid good money for miss matches for Garcia and Peterson on the same card, and now NBC gets the fight that Showtime wanted to put together which is Garcia vs Peterson. I don't think so.

... Did Showtime built them against the Salkas of the world or it was Al Haymon, instead?

Either he is too gullible to realize he's been had or there are pictures of him in a fishnet ala oscar hidden somewhere that might be accidentally uploaded if he don't dance to the tune.

I think these good fights on NBC are just to get people into it, when you start up something like this you need it to be a big show first up.

Slowly you will see the free tv used to showcase known fighters with up and comers on the undercard.

That way you grow a following to a wider audience and then when they step up and the big names or prospects fight each other they go to cable and al haymon can ask for more $ because the fighters are better known and he has the option of nbc if Showtime doesn't pay up.

It's a good plan but to work I think you need his guys to fight more often it's hard to build a casual following when you fight twice a year especially if won of those fights is effectively a tune up.

Espinoza is definitely getting fired for letting haymon run all over showtime, i said it from the get it go. no reason to feel bad for him he ran with it and in the end he got runover

Just because they put these fights on regular tv, it doesn't truly mean that the exposure will be THAT great.

If people don't watch boxing or don't who the stars are (on the level of the Broners, Guerreros, and Thurmans), then what good is it?

I'm wondering what the plan is to promote these bouts to the public.

So basically NBC for the intriguing fights, Showtime for the Salka tune-up fights.

Do they have anything of note scheduled after Wilder/Stiverne?
