Broner is my dude and to me it was a smart move....He has been building a following for being exciting in the ring and out of the ring.


$40 million for 5 years and 10 fights is only 4 million a fight.


He plans on fighting 3-4 times a year for the next 5 years. He is still a young un'.....Floyd and Manny are retiring in the next two years, Bradley may as well considering he has been in some tough fights the past few years.

140-147 BIGGEST names will be Broner, Khan, Thurman, Danny Garcia, and Matthyssee....with a few more wins and especially wins over those guys he will potentially start making 8-10 mill a fight....people love to hate Broner....you never jump @ your first big offer, and always be away of your worth in the future.

4 million is 2.5 million more than he's ever made. there are only a couple guys in boxing that make that much and they are actually good. they don't go life and death with emmanuel taylor and paulie malignaggi. sure he could make more if he was good and super popular but he's not really either.

I don't base what I feel an athlete is worth, how much talent they have, or what they accomplished based on their character as a person like most people do on here. Who cares if they are a nice guy as long as they put on entertaining fights. That's the problem with most people on this forum, they put so much emotion and personal preference on things that has nothing to do with what happens in the ring.


A young, brash, ****y black fighter who has enough talent to back it up is the most marketable athlete in sports....He is also aggressive, has style, and substance...people will come to see him win and lose.

If Arturo Gatti and Ward can fight for millions, and more talented fighter like Broner with more personality will be worth more.

Ha just beat me. He's not allowed to accept the offer per his contract with Haymon. Roc Nation is going to go down the Haymon roster offering all these guys big money knowing that they can't accept the contract. Then if things get a little tight on Haymon's side (say Showtime cuts their budget), these fighters are going to turn around and say Haymon prevented them from making guaranteed money and boom - class action suit.

how do u figure haymon is a manager not a promoter people are forgetting even if these fighters sign haymon is still the manager

Obviously not enough substance to beat a B+ fighter like Maidana. Broner is the new Andre Berto. He will headline a few HBO cards, lose in half of them and retire.

Broner is only 25....he has only fought above 135 a few times and he will fill out and get stronger....Most fighters are peak between 28-32.

Emmanuel Taylor is a top 15 fringe contender, and Malignaggi aint no cupcake he won titles at 2 weight classes and has only lost to world champions/titlists....Broner, Porter, Juan Diaz, Cotto, Hatton, and Amir Khan...At least 2 of them will make the hall of fame

He still has room to grow....there is a changing of the guard between 140-147 coming soon and Broner will be one of the upper echelon guys....He will definitely make noise at 140 and has a shot at beating Danny Garcia, Provodnikov, Alvarado, Rios and other top junior welterweights. No one currently @ 140 are all time greats...all the fights will be competitive.
