Shane didn't become lineal after he beat Margarito though did he

I think a lot of people claim Floyd and Mosley were no.1 and no.2 thus establishing a half-recognised lineage. TBRB ranked Pacquiao at no.1 and Floyd at no.3 at the time, based on the stoppage win over Cotto. Thats where the issue lies

Maybe I don't but I do know that Baldomir was a tune up for Zab Judah before the Mayweather fight and if a fighter is considered a tune up the world championship shouldn't be up for grabs.

Back in the 70's and 80's boxers had tune ups all the time but the championships wouldn't be on the line because the challenger didn't earn the right to fight for it. This made sure that guys like Baldomir couldn't just get lucky and beat an unmotivated Zab Judah and call themselves world champion.

The RING also didn't recognise the Mayweather-Mosley fight as start of a new lineage:

        Title Vacant
        Manny Pacquiao
        Shane Mosley
        Floyd Mayweather Jr.
        Miguel Cotto
        Joshua Clottey
        Antonio Margarito
        Andre Berto
        Luis Collazo
        Rafal Jackiewicz
        Jan Zaveck
Nor should they have recognised Hernandez as the lineal Cruiserweight champion (but they somehow did):

        Title Vacant
        Marco Huck
        Yoan Pablo Hernandez
        Steve Cunningham
        Krzysztof W***322;odarczyk
        Denis Lebedev
        Antonio Tarver
        Giacobbe Fragomeni
        Ola Afolabi
        Guillermo Jones
        Lateef Kayode
So its not just TBRB. I think the RING is awful now but at least agree with this logic. Making Floyd the RING champion by beating Guerrero is nothing short of a joke though.

EDIT: for some reason posting the links does not work. Google 'ring magazines annual ratings 2009 and 2011' to see

I agree with this. A lot of fans are getting all happy at the thought that Mayweather can be some three division lineal champion like Armstrong. The thing is Mayweather isn't even lineal champion at Welterweight, his Jr. Middleweight lineage is disputed since it wasn't even won at the weight limit. And if he was to beat Cotto for the middleweight belt it would most likely not be at the middleweight limit, against a opponent who isn't even the legit middleweight champion.

I like Floyd but I respect boxing more and I refuse to just grant a person with accomplishments due to popularity.

See they have him lineal at 154 but not 147 but they are the only site that does not have him lineal at 147..so you can not biasly choose and what do you mean he did not win it at the limit?? jr mw is 147.1-154....if that is the case then Manny wins over Cotto and Margo dont count and neither does Cottos win over Martinez cause all were at catchweights
