      GGG vs Ward

Many boxers including champions "say" they will fight GGG but few, very few, put their name on a contract. Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Peter Quillin, Sam Solomon are but a few.

Mayweather will not defend his two 154# titles against GGG.

Ward wants 2 tune-ups. That is smart. Maybe the end of 2015 he will be ready. GGG can take out Froch and hold a 168 title when they fight.

Its people like you thats whats wrong with boxing.
So then by your logic if K2/GGG were to offer Ward $850,000 and he turned it down, then its a duck? If not, at what number does it become a duck? $1 million? $3 million? When does it transition from "good business" to a duck?

Like it or not Einstein, financials play a big part in what fights get made. You dont have to like it, you dont have to hate it, but you do have to acknowledge that it exists. Ward-GGG cannot be made on a standard HBO budget. That is a fact not up for dispute. Ward by himself would suck up most of a typical HBO budget, unless of course you think Ward would fight GGG for the same money he got for Rodriguez? Or unless you think GGG should fight Ward for $200,000. The money is just not there.

Perhaps if Ward had spent the last 2 years in a boxing ring instead of a courtroom, he might have the kind of following that Chavez and Froch do, and the fight could get made. As it stands though, Ward would have to take a sizable pay cut, and we all know that aint happening.....

It wouldn't take that much for this fight to get made. If Wards gets back in the ring and starts making some noise, and if Golovkin can't get Canelo in the near future, then the fight will probably happen. It's win-win for HBO. They'll have an American star or a superstar monster depending on who wins.

Ward needs to get back in the ring first though. That's what gets the ball rolling.
