The risk/reward can easily be assessed because Golovkin's people require a PPV model in order to satisfy their reward requirements for risking a fight with Ward.

The PPV model is not available for the fight so they don't feel it's worth the risk. Tom Loeffler has said this. I mean how many times do we have to go over this? You're supposed to be a promoter.

Recently Sergey Kovalev took quite short money to fight Bernard Hopkins in what could have been a bad style fight for him and it wasn't on PPV. It was a calculated risk and it paid off for him.

So it's not impossible for Golovkin to fight Ward without PPV....they just aren't willing to take that risk. Once again, I'm fine with that. Just stop saying everyone is ducking this guy and he can't get big fights.

I just used a pretty decent example re: Hopkins-Kovalev. Hopkins got in excess of $3million for the fight. Kovalev got just over $1million. The fight was NOT on PPV.

Golovkin's highest purse so far is $900k. With a similar model, he'd top that purse comfortably whilst Ward would also earn in excess of his highest payday.

However, Golovkin's team aren't willing to take that kind of risk I'm afraid. As per Tom Loeffler's words, they need a PPV model to make the fight happen.

I said it's on both sides to be willing. So far I haven't heard Ward say that the fight doesn't make financial sense. Only one side are saying that and only one side are unwilling to negotiate. I never said its on anyone to make an offer. HBO put up the money and the it's on both sides to agree a split.

If GGG's team were willing to take a gamble, they'd take a low end of the purse like Kovalev did. They are clearly not willing to take that risk without PPV.
