Rigo would put Pacquiao into early retirement

Yes, the glass chin over hyped amatuer schools possibly the best fighter of the last 20-years.

Keyword fighter flowmoes, not boxer. So check your emotions at the door.

Pac at 122, was a beast but not that great technically at that time.. i could see rigo outboxing pac over 12 rounds to be honest...

Pac by ko, or rigo by decision is how i would break it down.

people keep mentioning pacquiao's one-handedness but forget rigondeaux is heavily dependant on his left hand, probabley more so, ever seen how he flurries on a guy who's hurt?

pacquiao has always had a strong right and he throws both hands when in flurries

and both being southpaw, it adds another advantage amongst the numerous others in pacquiao's favor(size, chin, power, equal speed, stamina), southpaw vs southpaw and a bit of rigondeaux's left hand is taken away

Pac in 2001-2002 was no where near being the best bro, we have to judge pacquaio from his 122 days not where he ended up down the line..

Im a Rigo fan, so completely biased here..

But i think Rigo beats this version of Paquaio. Someone said earlier that 122lb pac was an 'off rhythm fighter',this is completely untrue. He was very rhythmic. He threw a couple straight rights and followed with a straight left.

He was strong, fast and gifted no doubt, but very basic. Rigo is very good at ****ing with the other fighters rhythm and timing their movements. He has also had ****** amounts of experience fighting southpaws (most cubans are SP, and many amateurs are. Not sure why this is)

Unless Pac catches him (which is possible, pacs a monster) Rigo outboxes him and makes him look silly at times.

A hypothetical P4P matchup is more intesting imo between 130-147lb Pac vs Rigo. Pacquaio has better balance and more tools to throw Rigo off his game as he went up the weightclasses and spent more time with a decent trainer

Pacquiao is one of the best fighters from like 2004-present, no where near the best in the last 20 years collectively. 20 years, you're looking at Roy Jones Jr from 1993-2004 as the very best fighter of that time frame. Hopkins and Mayweather following Roy. After Roy's downfall I would say Hopkins and Floyd took over. Pacquiao had good wins but only one really good stand out win with the upset TKO against MAB in 2002 with other decent wins. Then the Draw with JMM and losing to Morales and beating Morales from 2004-2006 got him noticed as a top 5 P4P fighter. So I don't know how can you say he was the best fighter in the last 20 years unless you started following and studying boxing in 2008 when he blew up as a worldwide superstar.

Hes way more intelligent in setting it up than 122lb Pac though. Thats the difference

BTW, a question for those saying Pacquiao was one-dimensional, flat footed, raw, etc at the time, do you think that even Amagasa, Marroquin, Cordoba were better fighters than that Pacquiao? If you think Pacquiao is better than them, then why can't he do better than them? They KD'ed Rigo, why is out of the question that Pac catches and KD's Rigo several times?
