The point is that Mayweather was choosing Maidana. A slow, hispanic brawler to fleece the Mexican fans again. A style much more suited to him.

I would think it was a sure thing that he would've gotten the Floyd fight, you obviously disagree so I was meeting you in the middle. I would wager Khan really was promised it and that is why he choose to sit out the rest of 2013 in anticipation of that promised Floyd fight. Maidana comes along and beats up Broner all of a sudden he looks more appealing than a Khan that has been idle for 6 months.

The Khan fight is more in demand now (from him beating Alexander) than it was when he was being discussed as a prospective opponent for Mayweather last year. If beating a post-Porter stoppage Alexander has made Khan a viable opponent for Floyd, Khan having already beaten Maidana and dominating the guy who shutout Maidana and was a riding a 2 year winning streak, surely would.

People were ****ting all over Khan as a prospective Floyd opponent last year, now he beats Alexander and is considered a much more viable opponent for Floyd. He beats Alexander last year, the same thing happens and IMO he would have gotten the Floyd fight.

as for the maidana choice- Khan hadn't fought since April 2013 and wasn't considered to be any kind of threat by most. In what world does the lineal ww champ choose a JWW with 1 ww win over the WBA champ for a title defense?
