If he would have beat Alexander at that point around when Maidana beat Broner, he would have had a much stronger case for Floyd than he did by having a mediocre outing against Diaz and then just sitting on his ass. Lets assume he would have beat Alexander in the same dominating fashion he did this past week. If he had done that before Porter stopped him, there would have been way more pressure on Floyd to fight Khan. We can speculate what Floyd may or may not have done, but it is undeniable that a Khan win over Alexander in late 2013 would have strengthened his position for a Floyd fight.
