Why on earth would he move up from a weight class he's trying to establish himself in? If he'd cleaned out 147 and there was nothing else for him there, then yeah he could move up and challenge himself, but to move up without even winning a world title? That's some ******ed logic man.
I never said he HAD TO MOVE UP..i simple posted options and YOU CAME IN WITH THE "TOO SMALL EXCUSE" once again posters go name calling when they themselves are the ones to post ignorance...

Thurman should just move back up to 154 since nobody wants to fight him at 147.

He looks a lot healthier fighting at 154 anyway.

He looked drained as hell a couple weeks before the Bundu fight.

lol it's not an excuse, it's a fact. Thurman would be smaller than everyone at 154, so to move up without achieving anything in your natural weight class would be completely illogical.

He was 153 on fight night bro, he makes 147 very easily. A lot of junior welters weigh more than that

Are you saying he is to small?? or not skilled enough?? because you said he walks around at 160 plus and smaller fighters have not just won titles at 154 but dominated there man..

He looked drained as hell against Bundo. He had a lot more energy and power at 154.

The problem with fighters these days is they all think they're superstars, guys like Maidana, Guerrero, Andrade acting like other fighters have to 'earn' a shot at them. You fight whoever the hell is put in front of you unless you've paid your dues and established yourself as one of the top dogs in the sport.
what? maidana has been put as the opponent for the last 5 years promoters hoping he would lose to ortiz to khan to devon to broner. what in goddam hell are u talking about. guerrero has been a pro for 10 yrs. Every top 10 at at 147 walks around heavier than 160 except maybe Pac and Floyd who are once in a generation fighters. How many of the others have fought at 154? 160 isn't very heavy, all he has to do is cut 13 pounds.

He is skilled enough and will for sure move up to 154 one day, just not now when he's trying to establish himself in his natural weight class.

Nobody wants to fight him at 147. He's the Rigondeaux of the welterweight division. He should just go back up to his natural weight. No point in draining down to 147 if nobody wants to fight you.

lol being pro for a long time doesn't give you the right to cherry pick fights. Who have Guerrero and Maidana beat?

Idiots like you keep saying 'who has Thurman beat?' and then defending fighters who aren't fighting him.
